My family tried out all of the popular restaurants in Wasagaming while on our vacation, but 1929 was the place we kept going back to. We were served by multiple different waiters over the course of our several meals there, and all of them were extremely kind and helpful. My family tried the steak sandwich, ravioli, cobb salad (soo many toppings!!!), chicken sandwich (best crispy chicken sandwich we’ve had), hangover soup (super comforting), nachos (1/2 order is a great size for 4… it’s still massive), and several of their cocktails (strawberry margarita, banana Bailey colada, & pina colada). We were surprised by how much we thoroughly enjoyed every dish we tried! Highly recommend giving this spot a try.

The food was good. I ordered pickup and the wait was pretty long but it was also 36 degrees outside and just about thr same in the restaurant that day. This is a HALF order of nachos. I will state that it was extremely busy when I went and they made me the wrong type of nachos. (Cheeseburger instead of the OG nachos) I decided not to deduct a star because they were still so good. If you get take out I suggest getting to your location ASAP because they get soggy if they sit in thr container too long.

Incorrect prices posted directly on their website for nachos. When the take out order was placed, they did not mention a total and hung up before I was able to ask. At the point of sale, I inquired as to why the price was so different from there website they informed me the prices had changed and refused to honour the price even after they were shown the incorrect price. For the make your own nachos, instead of paying the indicated $30 + any applicable fees and taxes, we were charged $48.

We decided to try for an early dinner (430) Saturday, knowing it was quite busy in the park. We went inside and were told it was an hour wait for a table inside - we asked about the patio - it was quite cool out but we had been hiking and were dressed for the weather. The hostess took us straight out with menus - we asked if she knew the soup of the day and she didn’t but said our server would be out shortly. When our server arrived, we asked if she knew what the soup was - she didn’t know either, so had to go and ask. She also asked the kitchen about whether the pickerel could be prepared dairy free. Our teens each ordered a pasta for $28 each - decent sized portion but neither ate more than half and said it was just “meh” - not a lot of flavour, and the chicken was quite tough to chew. My husband had the pickerel for $28 - it does not come with any sides, so he asked for fries ($9). It was two small pan fried fillets that could have used a little longer cooking for sure, and one was full of bones (which was noted on the menu - but this was excessive, very poorly filleted) and a small dish of fries. I had the pickerel tacos for $27 that came with the same sized order of fries, included in the price. My plate had more food than any of the other three for $1 less, which is sort of strange. The tacos had deep fried fish fingers, what looked and tasted like the very green grocery store coleslaw, some lettuce shreds and creamy dill sauce. It was ok though. We each just had water. Our total was $134. The server was very nice and attentive and the food came pretty quickly. We are on a pretty tight budget but wanted to have a treat dinner out together before back to school - it was fairly dear considering the quality and strange pricing given the size of the portions. We should have reviewed the menu prior to going, but it was a last minute decision and was meant to be a treat. Would hesitate to go...

Here’s the facts from our time last weekend. Made a reservation for 14 people (6 adults, 8 kids aged 7 and under). Showed up on time. They took us to the back. Oops they don’t actually have a table for us. Forgot about our reservation. Stand in the middle of the lounge while they shuffle tables and chairs and OTHER PEOPLE. So we can uncomfortably fit in the tiniest back corner. No apologies made, and no honesty from them either. Just a lot of 2 workers whispering under their breath to each other and us awkwardly standing around everyone trying to calm our kids as we scan for an invisible table that they apparently have for us. Order is taken, food takes a while. But we are 14 people so that makes sense. Food comes out staggered and slow. My 3 year old is missing her food. Oops kitchen forgot her order. She is a toddler so we’re all sharing off our plates to her so no hangry meltdown is had. Almost all of us finish our meal before she gets hers. It’s quite bizarre, but even with terrible service and a forgotten meal we are not offered much for apologies and not offered a discount or a free meal. And I will stand by the fact that a good service restaurant would offer a discount in recognition of terrible service without me having to ask for it. We spend a crazy amount of money for some of the worst service and smallest portions of food I have ever had. FYI a children’s chicken finger meal is 12$ for 2 chicken fingers and fries And that’s the facts of our...

I wanted to eat here since i saw their frozen cocktails last year. unfortunately at the time they had a backed up kitchen and wouldn't be seating people for at least two hours.

I made a reservation this year. Those frozen cocktails I so was looking forward to were not drinkable. We had a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Bellini. They almost tasted like nothing. I was able to get the Daiquiri down but the Bellini was left almost untouched.

Beware, if you order a refill on your pop they will use reuse the glasses. I'm not sure that they keep good track of that when refilling glasses. We found this quite gross as my husbands Pepsi kept coming back with his same squeezed limes in the glass so they weren't dumping melted ice and watering the drink down.

The Spicy Shrimp Linguine had very overcooked Shrimp and Undercooked Noodles. The waitress recommended the Bison Sizzling Wrap and it was not good. there was no Jalapeños as listed in the menu. The Ribs were cooked too long, they fell off the bone but were rubbery. The chicken sandwich was good but needed a...
