One Eyed Jack Uxbridge — Restaurant in Uxbridge

So disappointed! They never responded to my email... I made a reservation on-line for 8 people for Saturday October 19th @ 6pm for my Birthday. I received the confirmation (# 606) email & on the 18th I clicked on the I'll be there!" button. When we arrived (now there were only 6 of us - 2 of our friends could not make it) - they said we would have to sit on the patio - although a beautiful day, the sun was going down - it was getting chilly & none of us were dressed for it - we expected to be sitting inside. I said no thank you - we have a reservation & would rather be inside. The hostess was a little rude about it - telling me they have a party of 15 coming & if we want to stay we have to eat outside. I felt as though we were less important than the party of 15. We were seated outside & our waitress took our drink order, she then disappeared for at least 15 minutes - I went into the restaurant to look for her, but no luck - I let a couple of staff members know that we would like to see her ASAP - we had decided as a group that we would order the food to go & have our drinks while we wait. Once we were able to do that - our food came fairly quickly & we left the now dark & cold patio. Perhaps an outdoor heater would have made it more comfortable to eat out there. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday as normally the staff / service is great. The food was good though! Everyone has an off day, I normally do not complain - but this was disappointing. I went out with a group of four friends and was very disappointed with the service. Our server barely acknowledged us. I don't recall her name, but she was maybe in her 50s and had long, grey, straight hair. She took our drink orders, brought them after a bit of a wait, and then left without taking our dinner order. It was not busy (the restaurant was half empty), but we had to wait 45 minutes after getting our drinks before a different server finally came to take our order. Meanwhile, our original server continued to avoid our table while visiting and checking in on every other table around us multiple times. At a couple of different points, we saw her whispering to a couple of coworkers while looking at us, and it made us very uncomfortable. We had no idea why she was acting like this; we had been polite and respectful, and were not angry at them for the wait. We were laughing, but not loudly--we were the same volume as, if not quieter than, every other table. There was a lesbian couple in our group, so not sure if she was homophobic and purposefully avoiding us? Anyway, we had to wait yet another 45 minutes before we got up and asked the front for the bill. Again, it was not busy and our server was visiting every other table. A great find in Uxbridge! My wife and I along with our 11-year old twin girls recently took in dinner at One Eyed Jack for dinner. After hearing several positive reviews from a variety of local sources regarding their food and atmosphere as a whole, we decided to head on over to see for ourselves. One Eyed Jack did not disappoint!

MEALS: I opted for the chicken souvlaki dinner and it was perfect. My wife went with the portabello salmon salad and said it was the best she'd had anywhere. An added bonus for our girls was their kids menu with decent sized portions. Needless to say, there were no complaints and our meals very delicious. Great fare all around!

SERVICE: Our server was very attentive and courteous, two very important traits that can make or break a dining experience. Although we came later in the evening, we never felt rushed, even when it came time for the bill.

VALUE: A great chain restaurant addition to the Uxbridge area, reasonably priced and fantastic portion sizes. . In our opinion, price matched quality, departing very full and very satisfied.
