Great Food but the Dine-In Experience Needs Improvement.
Food 5 stars. Service 3 stars. Atmosphere 3 stars.
CON: I saw on the menu they had lunch specials until 4:30. I pointed at the "Special Veg. Thali: $16.99" in the bright yellow section of the menu titled "Cilantro Specialties." The menu lists the veg thali as a choice between karahi paneer, shahi paneer, or aloo gobi, and it comes with raita, salad, naan, rice and dessert. While I was pointing at the Veg Thali on the menu I asked the server what the difference between Karahi paneer and shahi paneer. She had some difficulty explaining, but recommended karahi (it's curry with bell peppers). I told her I'd get the karahi paneer. After a moment she came back and asked if I wanted naan or rice. This should have been my first clue that something was wrong. According to the menu the special comes with naan and rice. That's fine though I didn't really want rice so I said I'll get naan. After a while she came back with a big bowl of curry and a side of naan. I asked about my salad. She asked me if I wanted to order salad. I pointed to the yellow section of the menu where it says the special comes with salad. She told me I didn't order that. I told her I thought that's what I ordered. She said no, I ordered the karahi paneer. So I ended up paying for an entree as well as a side of naan instead of the lunch special. It was all tasty, but I paid more than expected and didn't get the food I expected. Note to the server: when the customer is pointing at the karahi paneer in the specialty section of the menu, they are ordering the karahi paneer thali, NOT the karahi paneer entree.
CON: Secondly, when I went to pay I was told the total and given the payment machine. The customer should be given an itemized bill so they can see that everything is in order.
CON: Lastly, someone in the back was having a conversation on speakerphone. This shouldn't happen.
PRO: I like that the space and table set up, it's very comfortable.
PRO: the mango lassi...
Read more4.7 stars for this restaurant, guys don’t trust the reviews, this restaurant is the living PROOF that FAKE REVIEWS do exist! Lol if you don’t trust me go and experience for yourself! Well where to start, let’s keep it short, it all began with the entire restaurant being operated by 1 server who is the cashier and the order taker, poor lady she doesn’t even have the help + 1 kitchen cook (ZERO HYGIENE followed in kitchen), let’s continue & 1 dish cleaner, you might think how could I see all 3 people, well when you visit this ZERO hygiene so called restaurant you’ll see what I am talking about, because they have washroom in the middle connected between kitchen and dish washing zone, regarding washroom don’t even attempt to enter! This review is for the owner operator who needs to have basic sense to keep this area clean and maintained when the food is so pricy “0 value for the money you pay”. Unfortunately we have a group dinner decided here due to the FAKE reviews we landed up in this place, well the food is basically 99% items from “Walmart”. Trust me order any meat curries you’ll get the taste of ready made Walmart sauce taste, literally fooling people and charging ridiculous amount! Guys grow up and try to provide at least decent service to people who trust your fake reviews and...
Read moreWe visited Cilantro Indian Cuisine on a weekday. We reached in the evening at around 8.30 pm and we asked the manager if we would get anything in jain that is no onion, no garlic and no potato. After some time, the manager shared the list of 5-6 different items that they can prepare. We were also informed that the food preparation would take 45 minutes, which we agreed to. We ordered jain Shahi Paneer curry and roti. We also ordered regular dal tadka and chaap starters for our friends. After 40-45mins the food came, and the taste of everything that we had ordered was wonderful. The jain curry was very nicely prepared and very tasty. My non jain friends also loved the jain shahi paneer curry. We met and spoke with the chef, who was also the owner. We were informed that they can prepare many more items in jain if they are informed well in advance. They also told that it is difficult to sometimes accommodate jain food if there is rush. So I would recommend that do call the restaurant in advance and inform them 7-8hrs before going for jain food if you want...
