I’ve found the perfect pairing for my coffee cravings, and it’s here at Milano Coffee Roasters. I came by three times this week to test the consistency of their incredible mocha from the killer dark mocha, raspberry, and the hazelnut hedgehog mocha- it never disappoints. As a mocha fan, I can easily say this is one of the best in Vancouver. On top of my discovery of the great mocha, I was tipped off by one of the baristas of an ideal match for it: the Hazelnut Dacquoise. It’s nutty, airy, slightly chewy, and delicately crispy—boy honestly it’s one of the best pastry and coffee pairing I’ve ever had. The topping has a delightful mix of chopped hazelnuts, and every bite brings a feeling of happiness and contentment. This slice is now on top of my list. Just the right size, making it guilt-free for health conscious people like me, plus it’s affordable. Part of me wanted to keep this as a secret—I don’t want them to run out of Dacquoise when I’m there! But why let this discovery stay a secret when others could feel the same joy? If I’m celebrating or just rewarding myself, this combo would now be one of my default options. I’ve tried other loaf cakes here, but nothing compares. I’m thrilled to have found this little comfort that keeps me coming back, and with such fantastic service and the relaxing view facing the Rogers Park setting the vibe, it’s become a true favourite spot.

We've been smelling the coffee roasting for ages and finally started to come regular. Although the seating is hit and miss – sometimes, we had to go elsewhere because there were many patrons parked long term with their laptops – we always try this place first because all the staff make consistent espresso drinks with excellent micro-foam and the order takers are experienced and accurate. They have an amazing variety of sandwiches, and it was my intent to try one soon except I finally became a vegan and missed the boat because they don't have any vegan+gluten-free sandwich offerings. I used to love the carrot cake, and still do, it is not sweet and very addictive, but now that I cannot eat eggs, wheat and dairy, that's out as well. My partner continues to enjoy it though, no longer able to share it with me. Despite the fact that the space is rustic and the couches are too soft, we love that it is on the second floor and gives us a great view of Jonathan Rogers Park and Vancouver. In the winter, they don't have a canopy, so we cannot sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I vote that they install a new rain-proof awning and replace the cold metal chairs outside!!!

Smooth like butter! Wow, super impressed at this awesome spot and a phenomenal quaint little coffee house is a hidden gem. Boasting a minimalistic, clean and modern vibe with plentiful indoor and outdoor seating and a treetop style view of the beautiful park adjacent. I got their Butter dark blend as an iced Americano, delicious sippin on a hot day and a follow up walk around a beautiful area. The value was totally reasonable and preferred compared to a lot of places. They also have Soy, Oat and Almond milk available and don't ridiculously charge for a splash. If you love coffee down to the details, this down to earth, no-fuss and "justifying'ly" bustling joint is most definitely your jam! Support local businesses!

I am a very practical person. Coffee can be used for 'staying awake' or to 'drink with delight'. I've never been to Milano before and yesterday I went thinking that it would be a nice place for a quick coffee to start my day but when I looked at the menu I understood that it was not a place for amateurs like me. As I approached the counter (full of Plexiglas and everyone wearing masks) I realized it would take more from me to decide than to just scream "a small coffee, please".

Did you know that they can have coffee with raspberry flavour? Anyway... I only had 3 seconds to chose and I finally decided to get one of the "Special espressos of the day" as I trust them more than I trust myself now. I wanted a coffee with chocolate flavour and I was not sure how to add a little bit of milk without breaking the ceremony of the professionals, so I pulled my phone to find out that 'add milk' was the same as graciously saying "a cortado, please". Look at that! I finally fit in! My years of asking for 'double-doubles' did not prepared me for the Convention for Coffee PhD's that the Milano hosts. They should have asked for my credentials at the door.

Anyway, after the long 3 minutes where all this took place I finally sat outside with my precious unknown coffee to enjoy the marvelous view and I must say that the Capreze Cortado was the best coffee I ever had. I will need to study more before going again, but I will definitely go back for these...

I hardly ever write reviews but the experience I had here was notably weird. I had read the reviews and was keen on trying this place for the first time in March. First impression: the space is lovely. Second impression: few outlets, so not the place to come to set up a laptop and work. I order a latte (after being ignored for a few minutes) and the cashier isn’t friendly or smiling. Noted but not surprised since many reviews mentioned the lack of friendly service here. After a while, I need to use the washroom. I enter and there’s no toilet paper, so I let the staff know. They take a few minutes to finish what they are working on before they start looking…and looking. No toilet paper left in the washroom, so they check the back. I really need to go now. It feels like 10 minutes pass since I first brought up the missing toilet paper before a worker shows me a half roll and tells me to not use a lot of it because that’s all they have left! Instead of telling me what to do (did he think I would use most of the rest of the roll?), it would have been better for the cafe to have managed their supplies better and to have shown some regret or empathy for having made me wait so long. I had never been to any cafe or restaurant that didn’t manage to have enough toilet paper for their customers! This and the poor customer service that day mean I...
