Italia Bella Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Vancouver

As someone who absolutely loves Italian cuisine, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve finally found my favorite spot in the city, Italia Bella. From the very first bite, it was clear that Chef Kam pours his heart into every single dish. The flavors, the freshness, and the presentation were all simply outstanding.

We ordered two pasta dishes: Penne with Salmon and Penne with Chicken, and both were nothing short of amazing. The creamy sauces were rich and perfectly seasoned, the pasta cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. The salmon was tender and flavorful, and the chicken had that perfect balance of juiciness and taste.

To start, we enjoyed two appetizers , including an incredible bruschetta that was fresh, vibrant, and full of authentic Italian flavors. Everything tasted homemade, and you can tell that quality ingredients are a top priority here.

The salad was crisp and refreshing, and we finished the meal with a delicious dessert that wrapped up the evening perfectly.

A truely wonderful dining experience. I was in town for work and staying at the adjacent Hotel. I came in late one evening and asked if the restaurant was closed at the front desk as the interior access door was shut. The clerk informed me it was closed for the evening and I was happy to go to my room and call it a night. When I got to my room the phone rang and it was the front desk, the chef had asked if I would like to join him for a late dinner although they were closing for the evening. It was me and him enjoying stories and talking about our life experiences in different industries. The pass is exposed to the bar so we could have a conversation as he cooked.

I am from Alberta so I was a bit hesitant to get a steak. The food that came out of his kitchen tasted the way only a meal prepared with true passion and love of cooking can bring. A master of his craft.

I was at a different business the following day and talking about my wonderful experience to someone that lived in the area. That's when I found out the person I enjoyed a meal with was the owner.

We enjoyed our dinner here tonight. My husband is celiac but they were able to accommodate us. We had the fresh mussels and clams as an appetizer with their hoyse white wine. For mains, we had their seafood risotto, jumbo Alaskan scallop with gluten free Penne. Our waiter was kind enough to bring us some artichokes, olives and mushrooms as we finished the last of our wine (the house Italian). For dessert, we had their Banana Dora (lovely)!

Overall a very nice place. Pleasant server, prompt service, great Italian an music in an upscale casual environment. The reason it’s only 4 stars was flavour. The appetizer was fantastic but both our mains were bland (the risotto being the better of the two as the penne was a little too al dente for us and really needed some flavour.

The house wines are okay but unremarkable. (We tried both red and white).

That said, the dessert was lovely. Highly recommended and they treated us (in true Italian style) to a shot of Amaretto.
