As a Filipino, I was first drawn to Kasama’s name and was excited to try all of their flavours made using cocoa beans from the Philippines. I also appreciate the thought and effort that goes into designing the covers of each bar, many of which highlight Filipino culture, artistry, and designs.
To date, I have tried all but one of their Filipino bars (some multiple times, and the only one I haven’t tried was a special edition limited release that I was too late to order); I have also tried some of their non-Filipino special editions like the Year of the Snake bar (loved the combo of candied pomelo, kelp, and blue spirulina), the Chumphon Thai bar (fruity lychee notes), and the durian one (surprisingly sweet and mild). I regularly order 5+ bars every couple of months and it is my favourite locally made chocolate. Even the slightly darker bars like the 75% Tupi (one of my all-time favourites) have a natural sweetness and unique notes that make them taste delightful, and each of the dark chocolate bars have quite distinctly different flavour profiles. I have also purchased their fruity white chocolates for friends who don’t like dark chocolate, and...
Read moreWe love Kasama Chocolates!! Went for a visit again recently to grab some of their delectable chocolate bars. First it’s bean to bar and they make the chocolate right there in the back. I love that they give you samples of the bars before you buy (see pic). We tried 8 different bars before choosing 3 of them and got lots of advice and recommendations along the way. We chose the award winning strawberry white chocolate (so good!!!) and the limited release bar (middle one in my pic) was my favourite, my husband chose the third bar. You can actually taste the notes of cherry or coffee etc in the bars like you would in a good wine. The 3 bars cost us around $45 so that’s something to keep in mind - not something you do every week, but for a special occasion or to spoil yourself. We also love their hot chocolate and appreciate how you can customize it (see my pic) and we always visit them during the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama chocolates have spoiled me for all other chocolate bars…seriously. Absolutely worth a visit, you won’t be...
Read moreMy husband and I came here for the hot chocolate festival and wanted to try what Kasama would offer. We ordered a 12oz Classic style Brazo De Mercedes with ube/pandan shortbread cookie at $9.25. The hot chocolate was excellent. The temperature was not too hot that we could drink it right away. The flavour was not too sweet and its purple colour with white chocolate on top made the presentation even better. The beverage came with an ube and pandan shortbread cookie. Yummyyy! It was not too sweet as well. We enjoyed the beverage and snack!
Their chocolates have so many different flavours. Each of them has its special packaging and design. We used to buy many of their chocolates whenever we came here but we have got too many chocolates at home from Christmas or others. We will consume more from Kasama later.
My old colleague and I have booked a private chocolate tasting and tour at Kasama in February. We look forward to joining this tour, tasting different chocolates and buying their...
