Really disappointed with my experience with the Parent and Tot drop in today (Sunday February 27). I had been a couple times prior to this and had a very excellent experience but today the woman at the front counter was extremely rude to me. When I went to the counter to pay the $1 drop in fee, she told me it was busy and they were only open until 1145am implying I should just leave (it was 1045am and I know from prior experience that a lot of parents and their kids come and go throughout the drop in time so I politely asked if I could go in if I waited and what that looked like. She got short with me and was very condescending telling me (with major attitude) that the attendant had to let her know. I was taken aback by her response as I acknowledged it was full but was simply inquiring about what the waiting procedure would be given that there was still an hour left. I sat by the door for about 5 mins noticing at least 3 parents and their kids leave. One kind mom who noticed my child was getting a bit upset (not understanding why we weren’t allowed to go in) said her friend had just left so there should definitely be space and I should let the lady at the front know. I went back and told the lady at the front and she, once again, talked down to me and told me that she would not let me go in and as there were other people waiting before me (I was literally the only parent waiting there and if getting on some sort of list was a thing, why was I not offered this?) At this point, I was so upset with the experience and talked to another parent who came after me and was also frustrated saying there were definitely less people in there than normal so there appeared to be a lot of space. Eventually, the lady let me go in after I approached her for the 3rd time but I felt really upset with how everything transpired and how I was spoken to. To clarify, I am not upset about the wait or that it was full. I completely understand that. My issue is with the complete lack of compassion this front desk lady had for me when I was simply asking questions as there did not appear to be any clear procedure of waiting or entering. For someone in a customer service role, she did nothing but make me...
Read moreI was planning to do my daughters first birthday here in the Tyee room. I’ve been in contact with some of the ladies that work here to arrange show times etc and they are sooooo incredibly rude. A woman named. Ali or Ari was so rude to me today over the phone that I’ve decided not to even do our party there. She was talking down to me as if I was such an inconvenience or that I didn’t understand English or something.:. “Do you even understand what I’m saying” she says. I’ve never been so insulted. I will not be spending my money here. Whoever is in charge should really look into how they talk to customers and people looking to spend lots of money in their facility. Thanks for nothing false creek...
Read moreThis venue (Lind Hall) was perfect for our wedding celebration with lots of children. We loved that it backed out onto the green space, and has a playground next door. Guests went in and out. Plenty of space inside for dancing, tables, kids area etc. The beautiful wood beams dress up really nicely with lights, and the centre is closed to public during evening rental hours so its very private. (Kelly) rental coordinator was full of helpful advance information and answered all my questions, and helped make sure we had everything we needed. We also reserved a meeting room for storage which was extremely useful as the venue space itself has programs during the day and access is limited on your event day...
