The Flamingo Room — Restaurant in Vancouver

This is the second time I've visited the Flamingo Room and probably my last. The vibe is great upon entering and it is nicely decorated. Everything was going well with our party of 6 until we were told that there was going to be live music and there would be an automatic $6 cover charge for the rest of the evening once the music started. Although there is mention of "live music" on the stand up banner in front of the venue, there is no mention of a cover charge. I asked the server several times what the band was, what kind of music they play and the server did not know. We had ordered two orders of empanadas and they burnt the second order. We had to wait a long time to be served the second order and while waiting, the band started playing. We had intended to leave before the music as we did not want to pay the cover charge. I asked about squaring up because we didn't want to stay and when I said we weren't going to pay the cover charge because we were waiting for the remade empanadas, the server responded with "blame it on the empanadas then". I found this a very rude response and it was unwarranted. We left shortly after finishing the rest of our drinks and food. Visited Flamingo Room for my friend's birthday bash, and it was a blast! The ambiance was spot-on for a celebration, and our waiter was a gem – super attentive and thoughtful. Now, let's talk about the cake operation. We brought in a secret cake for the birthday girl, and the Flamingo Room squad executed the surprise with military precision. Kudos to them for turning our covert dessert mission into a sweet success! Drinks and food were tasty, Sure, they were a tad overpriced, but hey, who can put a price on an unforgettable flamingo-themed birthday extravaganza! Still, definitely worth it for the experience! We came from Toronto with my friends , and we reserved our table in advance. We ordered the food however, it was so limited but we ordered many snacks & drinks reaptedly, bar tender left the bar after one hour and we received wrong drinks afterwards but we accepted since they were new but when asked for the bill we found out we got charged for music!!!! What's that ! They charged us 2 times for music !!!! Why !!!? When we asked, then what is that ? They said it is mentioned in the front door but nothing was there at all !!!
