The Lido quickly became an East Van staple when it opened approx. 10-ish hears ago. It’s authentic & unpretentious, and frequented by folks that are non-mainstream / unconventional / alternative (to use the limited descriptors we humans use 🤣). The bar staff have always been friendly & real. The interior is stylish & creative without trying too hard. The indoor space has lots of places to sit as well as a small dance floor / audience area with a stage - and fun ceiling decor! Live music shows & DJ nights of various genres happen regularly, from jazz to metal. I feel so lucky to have a bar like this in vancouver - where other bars can feel hostile or sterile or simply mid, the lido is friendly and human and fun! The staff are awesome, the drinks tasty (within the last year they really kicked up their cocktail menu - shout out to the beer cocktails, especially the beer-garita 🍹 - and their selection of drinks on tap is lovely. Read moreThis is a great little place with an eclectic vibe. They have some of my granny's old furniture (chocolate brown velour couches with a lazy Susan built in), which I love. Old school art and a laid back, east Van community vibe. Inexpensive beers. Cash only, unfortunately, but they do have an ATM inside. No food offered but they let you bring in food if you want.
