I rarely leave bad reviews especially for small businesses. Unfortunately, this one was quite a disappointing experience. I came across this place for the first time and thought it was a cute authentic sushi shop to support local. The friendly front staff recommended a tuna mayo roll when I asked for a non-spicy tuna roll. No mention of anything special about this roll so I just assumed it’s a tuna roll with regular mayo instead of spicy mayo. It turned out to be a canned tuna salad with cucumbers. I asked to switch to a roll with raw tuna because most people would assume the same. The staff told me I’d have to pay for something else if I don’t like this... and no refund. The portions are quite tiny, presentation is also a bit messy - two rolls smaller than the size of one hand. The spicy salmon roll was very mid too. I would not recommend this place.

Some tasty sushi in a small friendly little place. Few things could do with a little tweak. Got the mini chicken curry and not much chicken in there at all like 4 tic tac size pieces but it was $3 so I guess that's the trade off. The spicy tuna was tasty with a nice crunch of cucumber but could of done with more spice for me. Salmon avacado was super tasty and well balanced. Had the eel roll with salmon. Was tasty but found the salmon a little dry and a couple of small eel bones but didn't mind it to much. Lacked a little something but not sure what... The star for me was the tuna shashmi. You get a very generous portion but more so the texture is like butter!! Super tasty as well. Will certainly be going back for a lunch to try one of the bowls. Great value over all.

One of the best places in the mount pleasant area in Vancouver to get a spicy salmon poke bowl. The food was quite good overall! The spicy salmon bowl was delicious, it was fresh, vibrant and had a nice balance of spicy ness to it! The rice was really good tasting and proper. I also ordered the Hawaiian Five sushi roll. It was good as well. I enjoyed the combination of the mango and tuna, it worked really well! The miso soup was actually also really tasty, not overly salty and was also good. Overall I had a wonderful eating experience. The place is small and cozy and the staff were really amazing and friendly. I’d come back again and try out some other poke bowls. Solid 4/5 stars.

Had to leave a review about my awful experience tonight here. Was looking forward to trying the food here tonight but when I arrived for pick up the owner looked at me and said I dont have any orders. After prying, he said oh, we cancelled that order. I simply put add extra wasabi and ginger in the order notes, and also PAID for an extra wasabi. I said o.k. can you just make my order, he goes no we cancelled it we cannot fulfill your requests... looking at me like now leave. What a waste of time, could have called me or simply just fulfilled the order like whatever who cares about an extra couples slices of ginger, and you lost out on a $42 order. Just wow at the level of ignorance. Never seen that in my lifetime of ordering sushi or food anywhere for that matter. Suffice to say I will not be going back. Just lost a potential lifetime customer for no reason. Good luck with that type of customer service. Save yourself the headache and order somewhere else, a million other bomb sushi places in Vancouver with real customer service to boot. Yikes. Owner reminds me of the Sollys owner. Just completley out to lunch when it comes to customer service. Look at the response he gave to a...

Carp Sushi + Bowl is a small I would say mostly Poke bowl focused restaurant with extremely limited seating, it is definitely geared more towards being a take out place then anything else.

I ordered the Salmon Poke bowl, 2 tuna nigiri and a spicy salmon roll. The salmon bowl was flavorful, the seafood tasted fresh but that is to be expected in Vancouver, however it really wasn't anything special by any means.

The sushi to me was super disappointing, the rolls were not rolled tight enough and the rice was not sticky enough, it essentially fell apart as we were eating them. The rolls again were nothing stand out to me.

The service was pretty nice but again it's geared more towards being a take out restaurant so the service is limited to paying.

Overall Carp is just okay to me, it feels like a place that a bunch of hipsters would say is the best just because of the small...
