Where to begin? The dining area of the restaurant seemed cozy and well furnished, with a nice little bar in the middle. Upon looking at the menu, at first, I felt like the prices were elevated. However, this is more a result of the state of the economy and not so much overcharging. More on this later.
The food was, in all honesty, incredible. I ordered the karaage chicken, a Japanese style fried chicken. It came with a papaya salad, and I ordered an extra side of pork dumplings, all as take-out.
Everything tasted excellent and fresh. I felt I could pick out all the nuanced flavors, and nothing was overpowered by another flavor. The chicken was probably the best fried chicken I have ever eaten, period. It paired well with the included spicy mayo. The papaya salad was also delicious, providing gentle sweetness with an occasional bite of spice. The pork dumplings were perfect and came with a soya style dipping sauce.
At first glance, I thought the portion was very small, especially considering the price I paid, which was about $32. However, after I finished my meal, I realized that this price was not for nothing. The ingredients felt and tasted fresh, natural, and wholesome. I was perfectly full: satisfied, but not bloated. I think, as a culture, we are far too accustomed to receiving enormous quantities of food and feeling nearly sick after eating it all. This was not the case here. Yes, I could have eaten more, but I felt like what I had was the perfect amount.
In terms of service, I have no complaints. The lady who dealt with me at the front, presumably the manager, was very warm, friendly, and professional. I will definitely go back another time and take a table to explore the menu further. In summary, if you're looking for something new to try, I highly recommend this newly opened restaurant for the...
Read moreIt was my first time tonight for date night at this awesome new resto in my area. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Atmosphere and vibe are fantastic! Laura was our waitress and she was very attentive for every part of our meal.
Our entrée was a nice portion of edamame seasoned to perfection. After this the peanut butter dumplings were absolutely delicious with the perfect amount of sauce! Our main meal consisted of menu B for 2 which included: red curry beef, shrimp pad thai, general tao chicken, rice, papaya salad and tom yum soup. Desert was a mango sorbet with a big pot of tea(of your choice).
Jessica the manager was super friendly as always...will definitely be going back as often as possible! Thank you for a wonderful...
Read moreSo disappointed, I wanted to try this restaurant so bad since the last few weeks.
The calamari was absolutely horrible, the portion was so small, the calamari rubbery and there was barely any sauce on them. The pad sew had zero taste and the meat was super chewy. The dumplings were fine, but they forgot the dipping sauce. The tao poutine didn’t have any toppings and the chicken was dry. The poke had no taste at all.
On a better note, the peanut butter wontons were good and the soups tasted amazing.
I never write any kind of reviews, but I am just so disappointed that I had to. I could have done so much more with 130$ instead of...
