EDIT The extremely poor service we received during our meal at this restaurant had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with "rush hour" or overworked staff. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived (and remained nearly empty during our "meal") so there was no excuse for the terrible service we received. They simply chose to ignore our order . We estimate that we received 30% of what we ordered over the course of 3 very frustrating hours spent in the restaurant and eventually just gave up and went home. We do not recommend this restaurant if you value your time or believe that you should actually receive the food you order and will ultimately have to pay for. The food was good ..BUT the service was terrible..I do not blame the waitress as it appeared she was the only waitress serving the room. I think she was doing her best. However, I will never go back. We arrived (4 adults, 2 children) around 6.45 pm and submitted an order (which is done remotely using an ipad) . Much of the order consisted of large orders of various types of sashimi and rolls. It was a sizeable order but we know what we like and what we can manage. A few minutes later we had a SMALL portion of food delivered to our table followed by....."nothing" ....for a lengthy period of time. I understand prep time ..but this was 20 minutes with no communication and no food. Eventually another very small portion of 3 pieces of sashimi was delivered followed again by a very lengthy ..nothing. We asked the waitress if we had more coming and she said yes (to be fair I think her English is poor and she didn't understand). We submitted another order via ipad having completely given up on the first order. Again only bits and pieces of this second order were delivered(no sashimi to speak of) and again we gave up and submitted a 3rd order after it became apparent that the 2nd order was also going to be a no show. We never received most of what was in the first order or the second order...they just ignored it. To make a long ,frustrating and infuriating story shorter we never did receive the bulk of what we ordered and in fact calculated that we only received about 30% of the orders we submitted. We had 2 very hungry and impatient children and we had all been looking forward to a dinner out. This was a very disappointing meal and none of us will ever go back. It had been a long stressful day followed by a long stressful ridiculous dinner experience. We weren't leaving the restaurant until after 9 and both children were cranky(as were the adults.) This was not a cheap meal and we all felt cheated after spending a ridiculously long time in a restaurant wondering if we were ever going to get what we ordered. Very disappointing. It's a shame though because the food is good but it's just not worth the...
Read moreIf only I could give less than one star. This place was not worth the ($24.99 with tax and %15 "service tip" $32 PER PERSON just for a Holiday! I would give this place a 0.5 for giving the minimal amount of service. I thought it was a scam because it says it NO WHERE !!
We went to Akita sushi for my sister's birthday. When we entered, the unhappy waiter came up to us and said that their prices today were $24.99 per person for DINNER because it was a Holiday. We came around 12pm hoping to get their lunch AYCE price. Surprised, I asked if we could we could just get the lunch price, they said yes, but with HESITATION. Later on we were afraid to have bad service and food, so we agreed to pay the DINNER PRICE. I was so wrong. So So SO Wrong. They gave us bad attitude from the VERY Beginning just because we had NO idea it was "Dinner pricing". The service was typical. The food was HORRENDOUS!! Nothing tasted delicious, it tasted OLD and SALTY. The salmon sushi and sashimi were slivers ( sashimi usually makes dinner prices so costly). NOT WORTH IT. The food looked so unappetizing, but my older sister ate most of it because she liked this place before. The avocados looked OLD, browning, and did not taste good. The salmon looked like they were dark around the edges, not a healthy pink colour! The tofu tempera was HIGHLLYYYY SALTY. The sushi looked like they were quickly rolled and put on a plate. Everything just looked so STINGY. Stingy meaning they gave us a POOREST QUALITY EVER and they DONT care about giving you the best quality for your money. I think to compensate for stale food, they OVER SALTED to add taste. We had to keep asking about our order because we were waiting for an item that never came until the VERY END.
JUST AVOID AKITA SUSHI. THEY DONT GIVE A CARE IN THE WORLD ABOUT YOU, JUST YOUR MONEY!! They will make sure you pay %15 TIP for "Services" on your bill. Worst restaurant I have EVER gone to. You can be happy for our taking money today and charging us an ABSURD amount, but we are never...
Read moreUnder new owners, they have a new basic menu, the portions are tiny, all of the food is flavourless. We went to celebrate my mom and sisters bday and as muvh as we all tried to keep our mouths shut we were all disappointed and it was obvious. We actually started laughing at all the food we would get. Spring rolls with notging inside them, fried scallops that tasted like a fish stick, vegetable stir fry with 1 ingredient, bean sprouts, chicken and beef that tasted like rubber in every dish. The short ribs were good actually. My strawberry ice cream had something black in the middle, I did not want to figure out what it was, my mom just said ew that's gross and wouldn't tell me what she thought it was. We sent alot of the food back but tried to stay positive until my mom asked for the 15% discount for her bday and some lady with horrible customer service skills came over and demanded we go to the bank to get cash if we wanted the discount. She tried to convince us that the discount was the previous owners menu which we got in the mail, she told us this menu was 2-3 yrs old and while fighting for this discount as in our opinions the food should be free, it was really bad, she told me to call the...
