I have been coming to Motorino for years and the service has always been fine, however, this time was very different.
We let the waitress know that this was a birthday dinner and we were told that they would receive a complementary dessert. It took so long for the appetizers to come that they actually came to the table after we had already started to eat our mains. No apologies for the delay were received, and we weren’t even warned about a delay, we had to ask multiple times where the food was.
In regards to the main courses, they had good flavour; However, 4 out of our 5 dishes were lukewarm. Again, no apologies from our waitress when it was mentioned.
We let our waitress know how we felt about the dishes and made sure that she was aware that none of our dissatisfaction was directed towards her. Not only did she then bring takeout containers before we finished eating our meals, but she proceeded to bring our bill prior to receiving coffee or dessert. After she encouraged our birthday guest to get a dessert, she decided to bill us for it even though we were told she would receive a complementary birthday dessert.
When we finished our meal and received the bill, we asked to speak with a manager and we’re told that he was busy on the phone… After waiting a few more minutes, we asked for the manager again. Though the manager did an okay job at rectifying the situation, the process that led up to a simple solution was dragged out, embarrassing, and really just left a sour taste in my mouth.
To top it off, while talking with the manager about our experience in a very matter of fact, calm tone, the table beside us started loudly complaining that WE ruined their meal by expressing our dissatisfaction to our waitress and manager. The server was crying to them and to our birthday guest about recent trauma that she had experienced, which is, of course, lovely to hear when you’re out with family trying to celebrate.
Despite the fact that the manager was very generous in compensating the meal, that wasn’t a professional solution and if that’s how all poor experiences are dealt with, this business will unfortunately take a turn for the worst. This restaurant would highly benefit from proper training...
Read moreOur third time coming here in less than two months and may never return.
On arrival at 5 pm in the wait to be seated area the manager was on the phone taking what seemed to be reservations and never acknowledged us ( a simple smile would have been nice). After roughly 3 mins of standing around a very friendly waitress ( May) came over and brought us to our seats.
After ordering our food the appetizer came in a timely manner, but when I asked for the bread that is usually served, I was told it was in the oven. After about 10 minutes the waitress assigned to our table ( not May) came over again and said it would be out in 5 minutes which didn’t happen. In the meantime at a table beside us (that came in 20-25 mins after we did) they got bread almost immediately. When I questioned this the waitress said they got raw bread🤔😂
If that wasn’t bad enough after finally getting our bread, we then see them coming out with two pizzas, and many dishes of appetizers for the same table while we are still waiting for our food. We had ordered three pasta dishes. A wait of 40 minutes for pasta is ridiculous.
I asked to speak to the manager and he said getting people to work on family day is hard and that they were short staff and that’s why it was taking so long. They had the staff for the other table 🤔 He then said he would look into it. When he returned to our table he failed to acknowledge the poor service which was disappointing.
He proceeded to throw the waitress at the other table under the bus saying twice that she stole our bread and that we were given our food four minutes after the other table which he also repeated twice. He made it sound like I was being petty worrying about four minutes. My point was why were they getting their food before us if we had ordered before they had entered the restaurant.
A good manager would acknowledge mistakes had been made and apologized which he never did.
We did get a...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Our reservation was at 9pm but we got seated at 9:20pm. The food was okay. I have had better food at other restaurants. The dessert was great. I will definitely give credit when it’s due. Billing was the worst. This is definitely a sketchy location as they were trying to get me to pay twice. I made my payment after my meal and it went through. The payment was shown on my wallet as well as my bank statement. The girls at the establishment were very understanding and polite. They brought the manager over. The scrawny old man who reeks of body odour and cigarettes has the worst attitude and wanted to belittle me when I was extremely nice. Claimed that I didn’t pay and didn’t trust me. I even showed him proof of payment which was my wallet and my bank statement. He was so rude and had 0 customer service skills. He told me that his little machine is never wrong. Guess what? The receipt had a different card number and did not match my credit card that I used. Which is very weird? Of course your little machine is never wrong. He wanted me to pay twice but no way was I going to do that. I have never had this happen to me as I always use my apple wallet. I like to take initiative especially proving to an absolute moron wrong! I confirmed with my bank that I did in fact pay. I would like to say Bav the manager who I met initially was great and they need to have someone on his level. This scrawny guy was something else and seemed like he just hated us Indian people. Backward mindset and does not understand what technology is and how to even use it. I will never go back to this location. He loved to play the blame each customer game rather than accepting his own mistakes. Everyone’s night had been ruined by this experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Make sure you read the negative reviews before coming...
