Smoked & Smashed — Restaurant in Vaughan

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I have been following this place for quite a while and finally made an effort to get out there. Unfortunately I really wanted to try the MR RIB but alas, it was not on the menu. The team picked up on how heart broken I was and made it a point to ensure my first visit was not a wasted one and to guarantee a return to try the MR. RIB. I got two things. The montreal smoked meat sandwich with fries and took home a brisket sandwich. I was impressed by everything. The montreal smoked meat was not overly fatty and had an amazing flavour and moistness to it. The unique flavour i attribute to the brine they use before smoking. It was amazing. If anything i would ask for a little bit more of the mustard they used. The fries were crispy and hot and definitely deserve to be consumed right away on premises. :) Although I did not have the brisket sandwich until I got home and several hours later, the flavour was amazing and that sauce was next level. Wish i had consumed it there, but alas i opted to have the mtl smoked one there. Still hours later the flavour came through and even more suprising that coleslaw still had a decent crunch. That housemade coleslaw definitely deserves to be paired with the sandwich if you arent feeling for fries. What can I say about the customer service. TOP NOTCH!!!!! The team definitely gave off a close knit family vibe right down to the young girl prepping the trays/to go bags for the order. Most impressive.

Will definitely be back and cant wait to try...

Smoked and Smashed has been on my radar since before there was a store front...but since I worked pretty much a 9-5 it was next to impossible. I switched careers and now on shift work. The first thing I told a friend was "YES I CAN FINALLY TRY SMOKED AND SMASH" Today was the day! My friend and I shared the Smash Burger, Smoked Chicken Sandwich, Brisket Poutine and regular fries...clearly we were really hungry. The lady taking orders was so helpful, friendly and patient. She saw the hunger in me and told me to help myself to some popcorn (kept me from getting hangry). Once my buzzer went off..I ran in and grabbed my order. I took a peak in...this open carton of fresh cut fries...you know the ones with the skin still on..they were looking at me whispering "try me...don't wait" I'm not one to be defiant so I listened...grabbed a piping hot fry...and did one of those fast chews while trying to take in cold air to cool my mouth off...no regrets. I knew from that moment in...we were in for a real treat when we got home. Everything was PERFECT. The chunks of brisket in the poutine was unreal. While eating...my friend and I have decided what we will get next time to share... Thanks for your hard work. Despite being so busy the quality hands down did NOT...

I definitely wouldn't have found this place without a bit of social media help. I suggest using their online ordering system to secure your food order. When I arrived, there were several people ahead of me and by the time I got up to the counter, they put up a sign that they were sold out of the "mcrib". My order was secure though :)

Service is extremely friendly and a lot of people working in the back to make your order so the food comes out quickly. They have a beeper service to let you know when your food is ready. They also won't accept any tips, just reviews.

I ordered 2 mcribs, chicken sandwich, poutine and some coleslaw. The smoke was very strong with the mcrib. I'm not complaining as I've tried other "smoked" meat places and you can't really tell. The poutine was a bit saltier than I like but it was still enjoyable. Coleslaw was very good too.

Knowing how long it takes them to prep all that food, I still wish they were open more than 3 hours a day and 4 days a week. I'm sure they don't get a lot of foot traffic in that area for dinner but the more options to get food, I think would be better.

Although this place is a bit out of the way, I would definitely come back and try out their other items. The lamb...
