Subway — Restaurant in View Royal

Honestly, I’ve gone here quite a bit just because it’s close to me and have gotten ok service before but at this point I’m kind of done and would recommend you travel the additional 1.5km to the Admirals Walk Subway. Sandwiches are often drowned in sauce or quickly folded and wrapped. I usually leave not wanting to open the wrapping and deal with the mess. Maybe it’s not subway policy but a lot of locations wrap the white piece of paper that’s used during the creation process along with the sandwich. This creates a layer between the sauces and the outside wrap. This location actively does not do this, so their sandwiches drowning in sauce aren’t only a mess when you open them, they leak through their wraps! I write this as I am done going to this location. This last piece might just be a view Royal bylaw but you now have to pay $1.25 for a paper bag no matter how many sandwiches you buy. So ordering seemed easier to call in for ease of pick up. At this time the woman said for catering? I replied with no, 2 sandwiches. She said no, we only take catering orders on the phone and to download the app and hung up on me. I then downloaded the subway app to start our order and an error message popped up. I tried a second time and another error message popped up. After a third failed attempted I just decided to go in. I was greeted by telling me to hold on at which point I said well I am sorry but your app you told me to download doesn’t work. The 2 ladies in front said Ohhhh it wasn’t just us!?! So firstly rude greeting and app doesn’t work. The woman didn’t follow directions and was slow. No napkins were put in the bag and there was no soup spoon for my soup. Typical Subway franchise located in Helmcken Road. It’s within walking distance to Victoria General Hospital, Aroga Lifestyle Clinic, and multiple other important places of visits. I had a foot long sandwich: Nashville Style Chicken, and it was the same as other Subways I have had it at. Sitting arrangement is quite spacious compared to multiple other Subway locations I’ve been! Definitely a visit when you’re nearby and craving a sandwich!
