Ma's Sushi — Restaurant in Warman

This place is genuinely fantastic in terms of food, but the service is almost always horrible.

Here are just a few examples: Any time I place a take-out order, the estimate is wrong by 10-15 minutes. I consider myself patient, but this is literally 4/5 takeout orders I make from them. It's not a big con for me, but it could be for someone else. They never put in extra wasabi and ginger when I ask. It's a good thing it's only 50c / pack.

These next two are less excusable to me: They advertise Skip the Dishes on their door, but their Skip menu is marked up by several dollars (rice and roasted eel is $16.50 or so on their online menu; it's $21 on Skip. Takoyaki is around $5.50, but is $7.50 - $7.80 on Skip). That's hardly fair considering, on top of these markups, there's still tax and delivery fee.

Today, I ordered this restaurant through Skip. It was my first time. They didn't confirm my order for an hour, and made no attempt to contact me. When I called, I was told they "didn't receive any order" without so much as asking for my name. While I'd like to be understanding, I find this egregious, vexing, and...

We ordered Gyoza, California rolls, and a Poke Tuna. We had Japanese tea to drink- this was very good, and you could taste the toasted rice, I recommend. The California rolls were served with ginger and wasabi. Everything was fresh- and well prepared-presented. The wasabi was hotter than I have tasted at other sushi restaurants so you don’t need much. The poke tuna was excellent-fresh, and tasty. The atmosphere takes you into Japan. It really sets the ambiance. This could be a five star with a bit lower cost but I may be out of line because it was top quality and you get what you pay for. Service was great! I’ll be back to taste...

I ordered from Ma's Shushi a few times. Tonight I had my birthday dinner here. I wanted rice bowl with eel but it was sold out for the day. My husband said it's too bad, it's her birthday. The owner looked at my sad face and told me he would make one for me! He was so kind and the eel was so scrumptious 😋. We also ordered Kyoa Za, terriyaki beef, miso soup and sea weed salad. Everything was so delicious. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant. Clean and nice decorations. I have never had such good Japanese food like...
