Oh my, where to start? If I could give 10 stars I would. We have driven past this place many times and always made a mental note to try it (and always forgot soon after🤦♀️). Last night we finally got out there, and wondered why we waited so long. Very clean, open, brightly lit, and fresh feeling atmosphere. Apparently they used to be located on a different street, but I'm glad they moved because otherwise we might not have found them. We were greeted with friendly faces and allowed to choose where we sat. We ordered mini samosas and onion bhaji to start. Chilli chicken, and chicken Tikka masala (commonly known as butter chicken) for the main course. I ended the meal with a delicious cup of Masala Chai. We have eaten at MANY Indian restaurants across Ontario, and not a single one will compare with this restaurant. We were truly rendered speechless when asked how our meal was. I know this sounds cheesy, but it's true. Simple words just could not describe how good it was. The Tikka masala was rich and creamy and melted in my mouth (I think I melted a little too at that first bite🤣). My husband says the Chilli chicken was amazing, though the sauce very spicy (he was WELL warned when ordering!). The mini samosas were adorable, but still full of flavour, and the onion bhajis were crispy and cooked to perfection. We were also given a small caddy of 4 homemade sauces/chutneys for the starters. A corner portion of the restaurant is dedicated to their homemade soups, stews, sauces, chutneys, juices, desserts, and more, that are for sale to take home. We happily chose a few of our favourites from the evening, and will definitely be back for more. If you couldn't tell from my very happy, very long review, this restaurant is a MUST visit. We will definitely be more-frequent customers now. ❤️🙌🏼 Thank you...
Read moreWaited 1 hour for 3 dosas and was just us as the dine in customers and it still did not come. And when we said like it's been lot of time, the guy at the front showed us attitude and said fresh food takes time. Like arrogancy at its peek. Will never be back.
Response: i think you need to calm down and start accepting customers reviews either good or bad. Seeing all your responses to all the customers who have given less ratings makes it clear that you can't take criticism. Not everyone posts false reviews. And i don't have any personal vendetta against you. And as you said it is a free country, so everyone has freedom of speech and can post however they feel. What we felt is what we posted. And for your kind information we were 4 people so each one of us posted different reviews. The other reviews are from your other customers who might have felt just like us that you are mistaking to be posted by us. And you should accept that you have timing issues, you are not open at 5, your door clearly stated 4.30pm open. And we patiently waited for good 35 mins after ordering before we got up, as your kitchen is see through and we did not see anyone preparing our order. And we all sperately ordered our food, one of which item came early, and we waited for our food for 15 more minutes after that arrived, that is when we decided to get up. We come to spend our money there so we expect to be treated with respect. So i wish you good luck with your business, if you don't want us coming, we are also not dying to come there. There are plenty other options that appreciate...
Read moreDisclaimer: For those that have a food allergy, I'm well aware of their own responsibility to be safe and take care of themselves when eating out. A restaurant that actively cooks with nuts may want to be a little more clear that they do so, however.
Took my fiance to Classic Indian a couple months back. She has a severe nut allergy. Long story short, one bite into her buffet plate and we were storming out the restaurant to the emergency room.
When she was safe and being taken care of at the hospital, I decided to give Classic Indian a phone call. The woman that I presume is the owner picked up.
I first decided to apologize for leaving the restaurant immediately after taking two plates from her buffet and wasting her food, but also explained the situation and that my fiance had an allergic reaction in her restaurant. I then tried to kindly recommend that she is more clear about what food items have nuts in them (nothing is marked). Instead, she preferred to argue that there are no nuts in the food, just cashews... (???). She was very unapologetic and more willing to argue with me. When she finally did say "I'm sorry", it was quickly followed by "hello welcome to the restaurant" (a customer must have just arrived) and then she hung up...
I will not return to her restaurant after being treated this way. I am extremely disappointed.
Be sure to avoid at all costs if you have a food allergy, especially...
