Super disappointed in DQ tonight. Its my daughters 5th birthday and she really wanted an ice cream cake, despite the freezing weather. I didnt get off work until 640pm and raced over to DQ to grab a cake before getting home to my family after a long day of work. Im also 28wks pregnant, very sore and minimal patience. I was looking at cakes for about 5minutes before choosing one and walking to the counter. In this time I saw one employee and they ignored me and went into the back. I stood at the counter for another 5minutes listening to them chatting in the back, swearing and all. Finally I said ‘umm hello’ slightly louder than normal. After 20seconds a girl popped out, looked at me, didn’t smile or say hi, just looked. And about 20seconds later came out and rang up my cake. As soon as payment went through she said have a good day (without even looking at me) and went straight to the back again. Like customer service did not exist in this place!! I could have left without paying at-least 5 times over. Super disappointed with my service but mostly with the teens working there. Wont be going back to...

Special shout out for the dairy-free Dilly Bar. My son has a dairy allergy. Not a lactose intolerance that gives him the toots. An allergy to the protein in milk that sends him into shock and makes him pass out for an hour. It's terrible because all the other kids get pizza and ice cream and he doesn't.
BUT! The dairy-free Dilly Bar ISN'T a ghoulish imposter of the real thing, like the vegan cheese on dairy free pizza. The DQ dairy free Dilly is fun. It looks, tastes and feels just like the real thing that everyone else is eating. He loves it and I love Dairy Queen for having it.
Also. Working at an ice cream place should be fun. In my highly romanticizing Gen X worldview, I believe it is impossible to have a bad day at work when your job provides joy to others.
Every time I've been to this location, this has been the case. The people working here have been positively delightful. Not just friendly, but efficient, well trained, and competent.
Kudos.
I'll see you all again and...
Read moreMy husband brought me cake for birthday as a surprise. He asked the employee what cake it is and he said it's a strawberry cheese cake and he bought it around 7.30pm. At the time of midnight birthday celebration infront of family and friends opened the cake and it was fully melted and was a disaster. It was on the table, carpet and all over the place. Such a disaster and disappointment infront of everyone. We went to the store after that and brought the liquid cake back and told them the situation. They cant refund the money and they can do a 10% off if we buy another cake. We paid already $40 on a cake which was a disaster and they want us to buy another cake with only 10% off. My husband clearly asked the staff when he bought the cake what cake it is and he said its a strawberry cheesecake. Who in the world think a cake could melt like that after keeping in the fridge. It was clearly their mistake and they couldn't accept a customer's concern. Totally regret on buying cake from here and never again to this...
