I became a regular to this place recently. I order online often, I also go in person. This time it was a horrible experience. The waitress must be taught some basic customer Service Skills.
I attached my Receipt with this review. Samosa wasn’t crispy at all, it was mushy, no green chutney for Samosa. Still, ate it without choice.
Bhel puri that I ordered was tooooooooo sour with lots of green chutney. It was soggy too. I didn’t like it when I had my first spoon. Still I didn’t wanna complain. I couldn’t eat more than quarter cause my jaws became sensitive and tongue couldn’t tolerate the sourness. I grabbed the plate and went to the waitress at the cash counter and explained my issue. She called the chef…chef replied thats their recipe and told that he’s gonna add more tamarind sauce to make it sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!
I denied it, I didn’t like the dish already. I asked to replace it with something else of same price and take the item.
The waitress never apologized for the inconvenience, still argued that the recipe is standard. No one was ready to resolve a customer’s complaint instead kept on arguing back while I was too polite explaining what happened.
If someone who knows what a good customer service is, they must have apologized in first place, understood the complaint and investigate it(least possible way to understand is to taste the food if you feel customers are faking it), resolve it by making sure customers are not left unsatisfied.
Thumbrule for such business:“Customers are always right!!! “
Nothing above was done, I left the plate on the counter and said “ I wasted my money here, I don’t want to throw my food in garbage. I’m not going to come back again ”. Waitress replied with no guilt in a rude tone , “ throw it by yourself”. Such an unfit employee to be in front desk.
Dude, That’s my money and you ask me to dump it in garbage!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheapest way to handle a customer who gives you business.
I’m bringing this to Owner’s...
Read moreWhen celebrating Diwali, it is difficult not to feel homesick for India - the rangoli designs, the decorated balconies, and best of all, the home-cooked snacks! Once such restaurant to remind us of home was Hey opened eatery on oe of Waterloo busiest). A street, HomeTaste is best known for its wholesome thalis, Indian-fusion burgers, and mouthwatering chaat dishes. Hoping to try their signature dishes, we ordered the chole bhature, samosa chaat, and aloo tikki chaat. While the flavorful chole were simmered in a rich blend of spices, the quality of the bhature was wanting. Despite being soft and fluffy at first, when left for a while, they lost their tenderness and had transformed into rock-hard discs. However, the top-tier samosa chaat and aloo tikki chaat saved the meal and left a good impression overall! The well-crafted samosa chaat featured golden-brown samosas, generously filled with spiced potatoes and peas, wjile the aloo tikki chaat had flawlessly fried potato patties, creating a delightful contrast of textures. Topped with a medley of chutneys, yogurt, onions, and crunchy sev, they offered the perfect blend of savory, tangy, and spicy flavors in every bite. Should you find yourself craving Indian street food while on Columbia Street, this is definitely a restaurant worth checking out! With a wide range of dishes including both, authentic Indian food and Indo-Western fusion dishes, you are sure to find something to your liking here. Highly recommended for your next celebration!

Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Home Taste Restaurant. I placed my order over the phone at 2:20 PM, confirmed the location with them, and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I arrived at 2:54 PM, only to find out that they hadn’t even started preparing my food. The staff admitted that my order was indeed placed at their store but was never passed on to the kitchen.
This is beyond careless. I went there directly from my workplace on a short break, with very limited time to eat. Instead of getting my food, I was told I’d have to wait — which was impossible. My entire break was wasted because of their incompetence.
What made things worse was the owner’s completely neutral reaction. I was left waiting, extremely hungry, with zero acknowledgment of their poor service.
This level of service is unacceptable. If a restaurant can’t manage basic communication between taking an order and actually preparing it, customers will continue to have experiences like mine. I will definitely think twice before ordering...
