Tsujiri is such a cute matcha-themed Japanese cafe and one of my favourite spots when I’m craving something matcha or hojicha. The service is always super friendly and quick. There’s one staff member (I think he might be the owner?) who’s always there when I go and he’s super kind. They also bring the order right to your table, which is nice.
The menu is great if you love matcha and hojicha. They have soft serve, drinks, floats, lattes, daifuku, and even full-size cakes (and mini ones too). You can choose between matcha and hojicha flavours for a lot of things, which I love. Everything is beautifully served! It is a bit pricier, but the quality and uniqueness makes it worth it.
Personally, I really recommend the hojicha soft serve. It has that roasted, earthy flavour and isn’t as intense as the matcha. The matcha flavour is also good, just very bold and strong (in a good way, just depends on your preference).
Some of my favourites so far: • Hojicha soft serve • Matcha cream strawberry daifuku (with red bean inside) • Kinako daifuku
I’ve also tried the hot hojicha latte, which was tasty but a little rich for me.
The atmosphere is quiet and calm with soft piano/Ghibli music playing in the background. It’s a smaller space, but there’s usually seating available and it works fine for small groups (2–4 people). It’s a really cozy place to sit and chat.
Highly...
Read moreI really liked the place! Was looking for Ramen actually 😅 and I had heard it was good, but it was hard to find any reviews online... Well i can confirm their Black Tonkotsu ramen is legit!!
-Loved the broth(super asty and rich) -The noodles were really tasty(Green colored, dont know what makes it green, but its good) -The Chashu, really good and flavorful!(Maybe a little on the thin side) -and the egg was solid, yoke soft and rich(not mushy!)
Overall really impressed with the Ramen(at the moment Santosei was my favorite, but id say this is tied if not slightly better) did not expect such good Ramen from a Matcha Cafe/Restaurant, but here i am!
I'm pretty new to Matcha, but I'm really starting to like the earthy fresh taste, i got the Matcha Float(Mixed), it was really fresh and tasty! would like to try more of there menu items!
Lastly, it might be random but the people who run it seem so nice and down to earth, the older man making all the stuff was working so hard it was really nice to see and a good example!!
I'm impressed! Hope people find out...
Read moreI am a matcha lover, so I am glad we have a place in Waterloo. I came here sometime as I love the desserts and matcha drinks. Last week when I visited again, I had ordered 2 drinks, a dessert, and an Udong. The music was so loud that I had to higher my voice, and the lady seemed like not to be in a good mood. Anyhow, I did the order and waited at the table with my kids. Later she came with 3 drinks and I realized in the receipt were 3 drinks checked in. I thought she would take the one drink back and refund it, but she said just sorry and left. Was quite disappointed that she didn't repeat the orders before I did the payment. This was the first time I felt bad there since I visited this place, and was after that not in a good mood. Maybe I should've checked the order again, but the reaction from the lady was disappointed anyway. As they are having real matcha, I really love their beverages, and understand the price is a bit expensive, but the food is too pricy as the portion is quite small. I may not go there...
