In the past, I enjoyed their chicken balls, spring/egg rolls, and dumplings, but ordered new dishes and was really disappointed. Perhaps it was a one-off situation as they were busy and I waited 15 minutes to pick up a scheduled order. The almond beef vegetable had mainly chopped hard carrots and bland beef, chicken fried rice had no chicken (not one piece) and tasted like plain brown rice. And the orange chicken was soggy, full of veggies (which was not advertised) and was dark meat, tasted like pork, very different than what I have had from other restaurants. So it sucked to pay $63 and only like the few chicken balls in the combo, the rolls, and the noodles (even though they were also bland). So overall, they fill their dishes with way too many veggies and unfortunately, wish I had ordered somewhere else.

The portion of food is small, and for the Lunch special:Sesame chicken, Only the rice and chicken! No any vegetable on side! Not like other Chinese restaurant in Waterloo will offer you soup, spring roll, or a can of pop etc., on lunch special. To be honest, the taste of food is not bad, but still make me feel disappointed. As the owner reply, so I change my review as well, yes. you play the trick on you Menu. On the menu says the price of lunch special is $6.2, but in a small printing it also says only for high school student. OK, that's fine, you charge me $7.5 right? OK , this also be fine, I am an adult. I suppose to pay more for my food, but as you already charge me as an adult, why you only give me the food for small kids?

I hate to leave such a bad review when the staff were basically pretty nice, but it was seriously the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. Looks NOTHING like the pics on the site, or what the traditional dish is supposed to taste like. Everything was served on plastic takeout trays, and cutlery was disposable takeout stuff too. No water brought out until we were leaving. Several of the dishes seemed nearly identical, and everything was too sugary and salty.

First time we ordered from Lin Garden in Waterloo and it was a big mistake!!! Lin Garden is like the McDonalds of Chinese restaurants, but we would have been way better off going to McDonalds. The soup was like water and had no taste to it. Way over priced for basically hot water. The egg roles were doughy but not really edible. My combo meal was basically instant rice out of the package, mixed with green peppers and a few slices of meat. Not very tasty, way too much green peppers which wasnt in the description and not much food for the price. My wife's meal combo contained a large amount of broccoli. It wasnt cook , and she was unable to eat her meal. Her watery veg chicken soup went down the toilet. The dry noodles for the soup were stale, the first time we ever had stale noodles at a chinese restaurant in over 30 years. I wouldnt ever go back to this place, even if it...

The food was delicious! I just got chicken balls and Singapore special meh feng to try this local restaurant for the first time and it was awesome! Sweet and sour sauce was cold tho but not a huge deal.the portion size was massive. I love how the chicken balls are smaller than regular chicken balls you get elsewhere!

The young man working was very kind and helpful!

The restaurant itself tho needs some TLC. Normally if I walk into a restaurant with much needed cleaning, I walk right out but I really wanted to try this local place as we just moved here a few months ago. With some major elbow grease in the cleaning department, I think a lot more locals would come to this restaurant and not be turned away from looks alone.

Will definitely be a regular at this restaurant...
