I wanted to share feedback from our recent visit this morning. My partner and I went in for breakfast, and our server, Daisy, took our order.
My partner ordered the avocado toast, while I was considering the Canadian option on the menu. I was torn between the pancakes, waffles, and crepes. During this process, Daisy seemed a bit impatient, even though there were no other customers at the time, and she appeared uninterested in explaining the menu in detail. We ultimately chose the Ooh La La crepe, thinking it was one of the options with the Canadian dish.
After 20 minutes of waiting, Daisy brought the Ooh La La crepe, and I was shocked by the portion size—it was huge! I double-checked with Daisy to confirm that this was indeed the Canadian order. She responded rudely, seeming shocked, and said, "You did not get the Canadian; you wanted Ooh La La." At this point, she appeared annoyed and frustrated, asking us three times if we were sure we didn’t want the Ooh La La. We were certain, so she took it back to the kitchen.
When taking my initial order, Daisy asked how I would like my eggs and bread, but I wasn't sure, so I looked to my partner for guidance. During this time, Daisy seemed very frustrated, sighing in front of us, shaking her head, putting her hands on her hips, and rolling her eyes to hurry us along. I understand that this can be frustrating for both parties, but it was definitely not a pleasant experience for us as customers.
At this point, we no longer wanted the order and let her know, which shocked her. I then watched my partner eat her meal, which she didn’t even want anymore, and we ultimately decided to leave. This was a terrible way to start our day.
This experience highlights the importance of hiring servers with good customer service skills, patience, and menu knowledge. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, as we both left feeling quite...
Read moreIt was a fantastic breakfast birthday 🎂 experience! Albert is so happy--it's the best birthday he ever had!! Thank you Anik for bringing the sparkler and making the birthday waffle. 🧇 ✨️🎇
Parking available in the back and also in the Independent Grocer mall Parking lot. Not easily wheelchair accessible due to a set of 6 stairs just inside the entrance to the restaurant.
We love the lights, bright, beautifully decorated, wonderful atmosphere and fresh delicious food!
I personally loved the match iced latte. Don't forget to ask for "little to no ice" because then you get more of the latte. I like to ask for it extra frothy!!! So yummy.
We ordered: the classic 2 egg breakfast (you get a choice of 4 strips of bacon, sausage, turkey bacon or ham) and for toast you get a choice of (rye, whole grain, brown or white) it comes with FANTASTIC homefries; the black and blue breakfast (comes with 2 eggs, 1 blueberry pancake and 1 chocolate pancake. 1 sausage and 2 strips of bacon, NO HOMEFRIES* so I had to "borrow" some from my friends, heheheheheh); veggie omlette (spicey avocado, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, goat cheese, lots of other amazing veggies, and we asked for added bacon 🥓) which comes with their famous homefries and toast.
Everyone's meal came with a cute assortment of fresh fruit! A slice each of pineapple, strawberry, and orange.
For Albert's birthday Anik brought out a wonderful nuttella-drizzled waffle and sparkler, and sang the "Happy Birthday Song!!!!" with us. So special!!!
We arrived at 9am on a Thursday. DECEMBER 19th 2024. Really quiet and fast service!
What we couldn't finish, we packed up to-go. Too...
Read moreI am a great believer in only posting positive reviews because I like to support local business. I also think there are enough negative things posted far too often. Having said that, you have to really...REALLY earn a negative review from me and this business did just that. My daughters and I went out for Mother's Day brunch and I am still, 10 days later thinking about how disappointing the entire experience was so much so that a 1 star review was clearly deserved and I am leaving a 2 star only because a very sweet waitress came to our table to rescue us from a male waiter who clearly just wasn't there to do his job. We waited 32 minutes for someone to even ask us if we wanted something to drink. I know this because after 20 minutes of us being seated without one person even stopping to acknowledge us, I literally started the stop watch on my phone. 15 minutes after that our drinks came and our food tricked out at exactly 1:15:47.61 after starting my stop watch. The food left quite a lot to be desired. I was looking forward to attending here with my girls as I had heard positive things. The profit margins are through the roof as the 3 table spoons of syrup I had to ask for to accompany my crepes, cost an additional $3.50. The crepes were not fresh, the smashed burgers came on a bun so stale we laughed that we could knock the plate with it and it made noise. The fact that we'd left so much food on our plates was not even noticed or mentioned by the waitress. We enjoyed being out together, but we certainly did not enjoy the food or experience at...
