I was at this place to check out their prices since I have never been here. I normally take a lot of picture of things that I might be interested in buying so I can take a look at the prices when I am somewhere else to see where I should get items. About 10 minutes of being there, security comes up to me and asks why I am taking pictures. I tell him so I can compare prices later on. He tells me I'm not allowed to take pictures of the prices, and I question him the reasoning for this. He tells me he will grab the manager so I can ask.
The manager comes out and tells me I'm not allowed to take pictures of the prices because the owner doesn't like it. I explain that as a consumer it is my right to compare prices and buy from where I like, but she kind of just shrugs it off and says I'm not allowed and theres not much of a reason. I tell her fine and say I will write down the prices instead. About 2 minutes later she finds me in the store and says that I'm not allowed to write down prices as well. I am like what the heck, what kind of rules are these? She says that I could be from another grocery store. I tell her that I am not, and even if I was, it does not matter. They need to get their act together at this grocery store, the stuff they impose makes no sense.
As for the prices, they are all higher than your typical western stores, the prices for meats are comparable, but there is really nothing here worth going for. Highly recommended to take your...
Read moreHad a very unpleasant experience here today. I put my basket on the check-out counter with the groceries inside. The cashier lady rudely told me to put the basket on the floor and then the pass items to her. I had my bag in my hand which made it hard to do so since the basket was heavy, which I explained. She got upset, rolled her eyes and said to put the basket on the floor otherwise she wouldn’t scan the items. I tried to compromise by asking if she could remove the water bottles so it would lighten the basket and I’d be able to move the basket to the floor. She ended up taking everything out and scanned everything, without making eye contact or even talking to me.
While in the midst of paying she moved onto the customer behind me. She spoke mandarin to the girl behind me and was smiling and laughing with her. The girl accidentally dropped her things on the floor and the cashier smiled, apologized and even offered to help her. Meanwhile she motioned for me to move, while frowning at me and just left my stuff on the counter. When I said that’s not nice, she smirked and said “no English”.
I felt unwelcome here and felt like the worker only wants people from her culture to be shopping...
Read moreBought two packs of tteok (rice cake), went home and cooked one but after the first bite I knew it tasted moldy. Brought back the unopened pack and the empty bag of the one I cooked two hours after purchasing and had to argue for 10 minutes with four different employees before they finally gave the $15 refund. Owner was insistent that I should have also brought back the cooked tteok so they could "verify" my claims (were they going to taste test it themselves??). I know that they have a no refund policy however if they sell moldy or expired food it is a different thing entirely. Written on the packages was "keep frozen" however they admitted that they had them out of the freezer on the shelf for two days. I'd also like to point out that the price on the shelf was a dollar less than what they were actually rang up as. Tldr; Just go to T&T instead - prices are cheaper and...
