Antonios Pizzeria — Restaurant in Welland

I use to go to Antonio's Pizzeria to grab a slice for lunch when I was working just down the street from them on Prince Charles. I was in the area earlier today and dropped in for a quick slice. Anyone that knows anything about good pizza will agree that a whole, made to order pie is always better than a re-heated slice. Seeing as it had been a while since the last time I was there, I had forgotten just how good their slices are. They make pizza not unlike what I can make. Perfectly baked thin crust, superb tomato sauce and a healthy amount of excellent cup and char pepperoni! I swear I heard the pizza slice angels singing with every bite. Bravo guys! Absolutely disappointed in our pizza last night. Ordered half cheese half with other topping. The half with just cheese had barely any cheese and pools of sauce. We order from here all the time so we called to see if anything could be done. Who I assume is the owner got on the phone and argued with my husband. Insinuating we were lying even though we offered to send pictures of it. He claimed they use slices of cheese from Roman cheese (don't know what that has to do with anything) and said he couldn't do anything for us until he checked his emails when he got home. Didn't really help us for our dinner that night. Completely disappointed in the customer service we received, they will no longer be getting any business or recommendations to people from us. Welland has a lot of great pizza but Antonio's comes out on top in my book. The main thing is that it's always prepared the same way. You don't have to worry about who's working or what day of the week it is. It's the same great hand prepared crust and sauce and the toppings are always generous. The quality of every single aspect of the pizza is exactly what you would hope for but don't always receive at every place out there. My personal favourite is cheese, Italian sausage and hot peppers.
