Golden Brothers — Restaurant in Welland

We walked into this place and immediately realized it was a dive, that's fine. I've been to plenty of dives and appreciated the atmosphere.

The first thing that hit me was the combination of the smell and temperature which seemed to be working together to make the place immediately unpleasant. I will say the staff were fantastic, though clearly working through an uphill battle to carry the place.

The place has clearly not been updated in at least 20+ years, it's cash only, they don't take tabs, the floors are all damaged and filthy, there's cigarette burns in the bar itself. The bathrooms smell like leaky sewage and the entire interior of the building was coated in a layer of condensation.

There are better places to...

Went there yesterday for a couple of drinks, asked the server what the board of scratch tickets was for, she didn't look over to us, and just replied while writing in a book "it's for a raffle.."... well okay, didn't seem like she cared about anything but getting her count done so she can leave...... if she doesn't want to do her job , maybe she should find another job that will let her wear very little to no clothes to work.... i would have like to know what the tickets went to support and donate my money but she care to tell us what it...

I just had the "chef's special steak poutine" and it was incredible! It's the steak poutine with lettuce, tomato, and Italian dressing and it blew my socks off. The chef drenched it in dark brown gravy with lots of cheese and sautéed steak, onions, and peppers (mushrooms are offered but I don't care for them) with the veggies and sauce on top. It was beautiful and delicious! Service was great. Band was awesome. Price was fantastic. Sad this was only my first time going.....
