Twiggs Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in West Nipissing

First time here and don’t think there will be a second. While ordering, we seen a sign that read “Yesterday’s baked goods 50% off” we grabbed a coffee cake, paid and went to sit outside. Upon opening the cake and each taking a bite we seen mold on it so I brought it to the counter where the person said “would you like one from the fresh options” and the other said “that’s what happens when they get left out over night” which is interesting to me considering baked goods wouldn’t mold over night like that, so the sign reading “Yesterdays baking” is false. She then proceeded to say “the new people don’t put them away at night” maybe trying to make me feel better about eating a moldy cake but actually just made me think what else are they doing wrong. So after that I go to get a cup of water from the container sitting on the ledge. And the thing is empty. The same girl pointing blame on the new people said “we just haven’t gotten around to filling it” which is crazy considering we arrived at 11am and they open at 8am. Three hours to fill a water container and it’s not done!?! She then says “are you guys the London fog and iced latte” we say yes thinking she would bring water out at the same time as our other beverages. She did not. I’m no stranger to this industry I think some full FOH training should be done along with some food safety training. Really unfortunate this was our experience, the location is beautiful but with everything done it’s really not worth the...

We went here as a party of 11. We were the second to arrive and ordered a coffee, tea, and a pizza. We asked for a number for our table for when the pizza was ready. The rest of our party arrived and they ordered. Everyone was getting their order but our pizza. 20 minutes in we asked where our pizza was. We were told they were working on it, 10 minutes. Time passed and we were to,d another 10 minutes. Our party was nearly done all the food they had ordered. We asked again…2 minutes. 5 minutes later, our party ready to leave we said we no longer wanted the pizza and wanted a refund. We were then told the pizza was not on our receipt by the person who took our order. We talked with several of the associates there and finally one came out and offered a refund, no apology. She asked if we wanted back in the card or cash. Cash was the only option as the trust factor was destroyed. We left hungry, but not hungry enough to ever eat here again after the treatment...

I've always loved coming to Twiggs - had so many great memories here over the years. Went with my mom this morning hoping for a nice breakfast with that beautiful view.

Unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. The place was completely empty when we walked in, just one girl behind the counter cutting cucumbers. We walked right up to order and she literally moved to the other side of the counter to keep cutting, never even looked at us or said anything.

Look, I get it - prep work has to get done and maybe they're short staffed. But just a quick "hey, I'll be right with you" would've been nice. We're standing there for a few minutes waiting and she's acting like we don't exist...so we walked out.

It's just not the same Twiggs it used to be, which makes me sad because I really want this place to do well. The location is still gorgeous and the potential is there, but the service needs work.
