✨🦄 Unicorn Cafe – Wetaskiwin’s Whimsical Hidden Gem 🦄✨
The moment you pull up to the Unicorn Cafe in Wetaskiwin, your inner child will absolutely light up. From the rainbow signage to the explosion of pink, glitter, and magic, it feels like stepping into a fairytale dream. Unicorns, sakura blossoms, sparkles — even the bathroom has unicorns!
This place is pure delight. Every detail is intentional — from the hand-painted murals to the sakura tree blooming right in the middle of the cafe. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s an experience.
🌈 The Menu: Be prepared — the menu is as whimsical as the decor. There are no food photos, only vibrant, cartoon-style illustrations. It’s a bit overwhelming at first, especially with so many rainbow-inspired options, but once you settle in, it’s a blast. There’s a wide variety of boba teas, milkshakes, and coffee options to explore.
🍜 What I Ordered: I wasn’t in the mood for a sugar overload that day, so I went with the Saigon Mythical Grill — and WOW. Caramelized pork, crisp veggies, pastel pink and blue vermicelli noodles, and a dipping sauce that added the perfect zing. It was hands-down one of the most flavourful things I’ve eaten lately. Served in a pink frying pan with matching pink utensils — because of course it is.
🧋 The Drink: Overwhelmed by the epic drink menu, I defaulted to a classic: Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The boba were perfectly tender (not overly chewy!), and the drink was surprisingly balanced — not too sweet, just right. I appreciated that.
🎨 A Note on Service: Each plate and drink here is a little masterpiece. So if it’s busy, pack your patience. The folks running the cafe are lovely, and they put care into every dish. It’s worth the wait. The desserts, in particular, are visual stunners, piled high with candy, toppers, and magical extras.
🪄 Final Thoughts: Whether you're here for the aesthetic, the food, or the fantasy, Unicorn Cafe delivers joy in every bite and sip. Bring your camera, bring your sense of wonder, and prepare for something...
Read moreI was born and raised in Wetaskiwin. I can't say theres a lot of "aesthetic non corperate cafes". Either to take your kids or go on a date, I was excited when I heard about the unicorn cafe.
There were a few people worried about the "A.I" art and honestly it isn't that bad. The drinks as far as I know taste great and i will definitely be going back again.
The staff took their time with my drink and they were super polite.
I hope our community will continue to support the unicorn cafe because it's one of the better things that's come out of this year. Especially in town with all the bickering and what not.
Go treat yourself out. Get that unicorn drink and rainbow grilled cheese. You only get to experience this life once!
(For anyone curious they announced a sakura lychee slush on facebook and i went right away as sakura and lychee are two of my favorites. I ended up being the first to ask and i had to wait a bit for it but it was soo sooo worth it. 😋)
(P.s. went back to get the roasted oolong and my mom got the caramel matcha they're so good and their regular tapioca...

As a local, I used to go to Unicorn Cafe, but I honestly can’t support them anymore. Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen on multiple occasions! the owner and staff sleeping overnight inside the shop, right under the front counter and near the kitchen. This is a food place, not a bedroom. It’s disgusting and a serious health and safety concern and fire hazards too! They even tried to block the view by hanging up two menu banners, but it didn’t work, it was still clearly visible from outside!!! I wasn’t the only one who saw it. Others I spoke to noticed too. I took pictures and reported it to Alberta Health Services and the Fire Department, and they got back to me saying they’re actively investigating this. It gross me out 🤮 This kind of thing shouldn’t be happening in a place that serves food.
If you live around here, think twice before supporting this business. I really hope the city steps in and deals with...
