Navarasa Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Whitby

I had a very amazing experience at the Restaurant and the Catering service was really exceptional too. First, I went with family to try the food at the restaurant and was amazed by the quality and authenticity of the food. I tried the Gangster Gobi (Very Yummy appetizer and unique recipe), Veg Diwani Handi was tasty and good balance of spices and on top of everything was the Veg Hyderabadi Dum Biryani 😋. The briyani was flavorful and made with Indian style masala that was just awesome. Me and wife were so impressed, we got the Team to provide Catering Food for our family event and ordered all the above items + Methi Chaman, Moog Dal Halwa, Naan and Tango (Refreshing drink) for around 70 people. They delivered all the food and warmers too at our event location and arranged everything on the table too. Our guests loved all the food very much, especially the Veg Dum Biryani and Gangster Gobi. The only thing we realized during event was that we ran out of Naan bread/Roti quickly than planned during finalizing the order, but the rest of the food quantity was more than sufficient (our guest actually packed the extra food before leaving). The team including the Owner too has been really accommodating, communicated well, reasonable and planned everything beforehand for catering. My wife and I stopped by Navarasa on their grand opening day. We had heard about their soft launch earlier and wanted to give it a try. They had an introductory offer for a chicken and veg biryani meal deal, and we also ordered a couple of curries and rotis to try. The place was packed, and it looked like the owners didn’t expect such a big crowd. Many customers were waiting for over an hour, and our food also took about the same time to arrive. The staff seemed overwhelmed and the whole thing felt a bit unorganized. When the food finally came, it was okay but nothing special. The biryani and curries were decent, but not something we’d go out of our way for. I think the quality might have suffered because of how busy they were that day. Prices are on the higher side for the portion size, so I’d expect a bit more in terms of taste and overall experience. Hopefully, once things settle down, they’ll manage better and improve the food and service. I’m open to giving them another shot in a few weeks, but if it stays the same, I probably...

I respect the efforts it takes to run a restaurant, but

A terrible experience. Recovering after probable food poisoning. Wife puked for full one day, severe heart burn, indigestion. I have lost my appetite for 2 days. Rest 2 members are fortunately ok

First - There is no parking (free) you need to pay for it. Still ok. It is ok

Second - Food quantity is ok, but quality? Chicken was stale, Biryani was over cooked, had 2 leg pieces ( like really?), the nan were nice, alo parantha alo smelled and was stale, overall may be 2 star for quantity and that's it

Third - Why was a lemon cut in half with red sindoor at the door way? Most Indian community will understand what I am pointing at.

Anyways, we survived that horrific experience and would surely won't recommend to anyone. Totally disgrace to all the efforts the owner puts in to run an establishment. I really feel bad for them. All the best for your future endeavors and hopefully this review would give you a...
