My husband and I have had a lot of Thai food in the past, and Thai on Brock has the best Thai food we've ever had. We ended up there by accident, and we feel like the stars aligned that night for us to experience the best Thai food. We were going to a movie that night, and we were already cutting it close - having a sit down dinner, and making it to our movie on time. We went to a different Thai food restaurant that we had been to before, in which we've had good experiences but also mediocre, but we were determined to give them another chance. We pulled up, and the sign on the door said, "Take out, only". We were disappointed and stressed because we didn't have a lot of time, and we were really craving Thai food. We did a google search of Thai restaurants near us, and one came up saying, "Whitby's best Thai food". We were about to go there, but decided to read the reviews and look at the pictures, and we were glad we did, because there were a lot of bad reviews. Then Thai on Brock came up, and it was close, and the photos of all the reviewers' meals looked really good, as well as strong reviews about it being amazing. I should also mention that my husband is celiac (Gluten allergy), which makes it very difficult for us to eat out. I called them to ask whether they had any gluten free items on the menu, and the woman was so knowledgeable about celiac, and she said they'd take care of us. We got there and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. She answered all of our questions, and made sure to check with the chef on any gluten questions we had. We ordered the mango salad, which was so fresh and absolutely delicious. I ordered the pad thai with chicken, and it was so flavorful and delicious. My husband ordered the green curry with chicken, and it was so creamy, flavorful and fabulous. It is difficult for my husband and I to go out to restaurants because of his allergy, and so to have such a wonderful experience was amazing. The food came out quickly, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and if they were unsure of something, they checked with the chef. We had a delicious dinner and made it to our...

PSA: this is not authentic Thai. I hate to leave a restaurant a negative review but this is for all the reviewers who led me astray talking about "this is authentic Thai" or "the food was as good or better than what I've had in Toronto or Markham etc". Please, PLEASE go try Pai, Khao San Road or Koh Lipe and then come back and delete your reviews so people like me don't have expectations and waste their time/money.

There were positives but starting with what should be two easy staples:

Do NOT. I repeat. DO NOT GET THE PAD THAI. Pro tip from an Asian and someone who's travelled all throughout thailand ... pad thai should never be red/orange. It should be a light brown/beige which is a result of tamarind if they're making it right. For here, I suspect they put ketchup or something similar in it. It really wasn't good and had a jarring aftertaste. Second pro tip: it's not authentic if they don't have prik nam pla which is a condiment with things like chillies, garlic and fish sauce. This is such a staple that I really should've known what I was getting myself into when they said they only have Siracha.

Positives were the crispy beef and the pad gra prow. Enjoyable in comparison though I wouldn't get either again. Saw some comments saying these were spicy and they definitely weren't, though I understand people have diverse palettes. The lady at the front desk was friendly though and I'll say the prices were fair for the portions. Food was ready right on time and I had no difficulties...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai on Brock, and I can honestly say it was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with such warmth and friendliness that it immediately set the tone for the evening. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we tried was bursting with fresh flavor and beautifully presented. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet like you find in some places, and the portion size was generous. The curries had such depth of flavor, with the perfect amount of spice and creaminess. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. What I really appreciated was that the entire experience felt authentic yet approachable. Whether you’re new to Thai food or a longtime fan, there’s something on the menu for everyone. Overall, Thai on Brock is a true gem, fantastic food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable...

I wish we took photos of the food! The only thing I got was the mango salad starter—we ordered two for 8 pax to share and the generous serving was wiped out! After a long day of travel with a delayed flight and rush hour traffic getting to our hotel, finding this Thai & Malaysian place that's open until 10pm was the perfect comfort food welcome for us starving travellers! The tom yum, tom kha gai (my go-to Thai dish order), and green curry chicken were excellent authentic—especially the latter. Portions are good for sharing between 2-3 pax. Chicken satay was good but not quite Malaysian/Singaporean in size (huge cube) and texture (soft and render, more like a giant kebab)—but not complaining! It just didn't look/feel like the hawker satay I'm used to but it tasted good. The set came with perfectly steaming hot rice and freshly stir-fried mixed vegetables that were cooked to the bite. Order the set—it's so worth it! Crispy fried beef was a delight. And they serve water. Friendly and gentle service. Cozy, retro vibe with framed photographs of rural- and cityscape Thailand or Malaysia along the walls and a funky green glowing bamboo feature window at the entrance. Go and eat there.

Finally a great halal Thai spot locally in Whitby. The restaurant is right on Brock and offers a cozy casual but decently kept location to enjoy food though we had takeaway. Tried a few items for takeaway and was pretty happy. The green curry is great tasting and is one of the best items. The only concern was that there was very little chicken included atleast in our portion. The Thai crispy beef is great. It's well seasoned with spicy and sweet flavouring and crispy to perfection. And finally the pad kee-ew is also pretty good. Only wish they had the spicy version (pad kee mao as well). The rice doesn't come with the order which is a bit strange. So though while on taste, I will give a 5/5, these other things stopping me from giving it a perfect rating overall. Nonetheless this is close, and I definitely will be back.

This has been our go-to place for Thai food, and we’ve loved everything we’ve tried so far. The Stir-Fried Glass Noodles (veg), Thai Spicy Noodles (veg), Khao Soi, and Red Curry were all packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. We also gave the Pad Thai a try, but it wasn’t quite our favorite. My friends had the Calamari and Shrimp Fried Rice, and they couldn’t stop praising the flavors. The portion sizes were generous, making it great value for money. The place has a clean, cozy ambiance, and the server was super warm, offering helpful recommendations and making sure to inform us about ingredients, especially for any allergies or vegetarian preferences.
