I’ve went to this place a number of times. If you’re a Jamaican you can expect good food. The food size however is too small. I got 1 large fried chicken and 1 jerk pork with rice and peas. The portion of the rice was that of a small box food. I read a comment of the restaurant owner saying the portion is comparable to that of other establishments. That’s not the case, I go to lots of different establishments and this place is one of the few Ive went to with the smallest portions to offer. The meat and chicken serving is just perfect and the fact that chicken and meat cost more it doesn’t make sense for the rice servings to be small. Considering 8kg of rice depending on what type of rice you buy, cost between $15-20 dollars, the servings could be a lot more. The food is good though but paying $45 for two large meals and getting that small rice...
Read moreI visited TJH based on FB group recommendations, and the food was good. The soup reminded me of my grandmother's. I did, however, order Plantain, and I ordered it after I placed my original order. When I asked if I could order the plantain, the server immediately said no. My initial thought was here that we go to another West Indian restaurant sold out of something, and the day has just begun. So I asked why, and she said because we make it fresh to order and I should've ordered it with my original order. I was taken a back only because she was so quick to say no, instead of initially telling me it would be a longer wait for the plantain. I was in no rush, and I told her in which she then took my order for that. Outside of that small experience, I will still be back. The food was good. I hope to change my ratings to 5 stars my next...

I visited The Jerk House recently and was impressed by the service—quick and attentive. The food was made fresh and the oxtail, in particular, tasted amazing. You could tell there was real care put into the preparation and flavors.
However, my only gripe is the portion size. For the price, I was expecting a more balanced serving. My order had three-quarters rice and only a quarter of oxtail, which left me feeling disappointed. Compared to places like Nicey's and Sunrise, The Jerk House is way too frugal with their portions.
If they could find a better balance between quality and portion size, this spot would be a top contender. Until then, I’d hesitate to recommend it at its...
