I am so glad I am not the only one giving a negative review here and the responses from the owner just confirm why I will never order food from The Zen again. I used to order at least once a week and every time I pick up I was asked to bring cash only...so Iād go out of my wY to the bank. I really liked the food and I donāt mind helping local businesses out. When I order delivery however I never get my order...it happened 3 times and three times I did get my money back from the delivery company. Always from the same restaurant??? 3 times. I thought Iād let them know only to be insulted and belittled by the owner/ worker I donāt really know who this woman was but she is sooo rude. She doesnāt deserve her customers. I wanted to draw your attention to a potential problem you may have with Skip the Dishes. I did this out of courtesy to you and didn't expect to get yelled at. I waited 55min for the food because your staff forgot to punch it in, and I waited patiently until I had enough and asked your front staff for the status all I got was "wha?" And I never got an apology at all, instead when the food finally came out because I asked to expedite the order as you cancelled it AGAIN without my ask and you came out and gave me a very rude gesture and didn't even apologize once. You were clearly not ready to take on the new years eve. Your front staff who forgot to punch in the order couldn't even look at me in the eye because she was so embarrassed and just chose to ignore me and pretended to write something down on the paper for a flat 2 minutes. The spring rolls served with lunch menu was like plastic. The waitress was kind enough to replace the same with pop. By then the mood to eat at this place was already gone.
On top of this they were reluctant to give us the food invoice. We were persistent to get it as the total amount sounded too high. Upon checking, found that they have over charged us on all items and also had charged an additional 15 percent Service charge without mentioning anywhere. Since no invoice was provided before payment, I also paid a tip, without knowing that 15% surcharge was already included. The invoice was provided to me only after making the payment and after being persistent.
With great reluctance the owner / manager came out and was unapologetic.. showing us the find print in the menu āprices are subject to change without noticeā.
