Worst customer service in Stouffville. Our server named Julie(?) was rude and acted like she owned the restaurant. 💀 I was visiting with my little brother and we were both shocked by the lack of respect she had. She acted like she didn't want to serve us at all. After we had our food, I decided to only tip 5% because she was mean. It was 18.97 before tax and 21.45 with tax. After tip I calculated 22.40 so I left exactly 22.40 on the tray. She told me I owed another 5 cents. Understandable mistake. Then I pointed to the coins in her hand showing her I gave her two loonies. But she kept going on about how I'm wrong because 43 rounds up to 45. But 2 is more than 1.45. 🗿 I pointed at the coins in her hand and she either wasn't listening to me, was careless with the receipt details, or wanted to cause problems for us because she kept on insisting. I decided to just give her the 5 cents because I didn't want to keep fighting her. I gave her 25 instead, and she whipped out her wallet to give me change. This is swiss chalet and I expect a certain level of professionalism. I do not believe that a waiter should be doing this right in front of us, even if we are just two kids. If you have to do that please do it out of our sight.
Besides feeling unwelcome and the issue with the change, the food quality was not up to par with the swiss chalet in Markham. My brother and I had apple juice and a shirley temple and they both tasted oddly like cardboard.

Happy to report service was much better with improvement in timelines throughout the process. Server was much friendlier and helpful, particularly with grandkids Leaving original rating pending a third visit for best of three.
Not the place to go if you are in a hurry in the evening. Service was appallingly Slow. Place was busy granted, but not at capacity and it was a Friday night, I would’ve expected a restaurant that specializes in putting the food on the table quickly to have been better prepared. I typically have food in front of me 10 to 20 minutes after ordering - it took an hour To get our entrées! The insult to iinjury, on a night the restaurant was having a bad night was playing favorites. Table beside us were clearly friends with the owner. (he sat down and chatted with them.) Arrived 20+ minutes after us but had food and drinks before us and were gone while we were still Eating. And were comped part of their meal! Read moreWent with my family and in-laws to the restaurant the other day. Had a horrible server by the name of Caroline who was the most sour person to be serving a table. No smile, nothing positive to say, very rude. She insulted my mother-in-law and my wife to which I decided she would get no tip. No one insults my family and gets a reward for it.
Caroline of course argued about her lack of tip, then slammed the pay machine down on the table and walked off without having the remaining split bills get paid for, to which her job was then done for her.
I was then called by the manager a day later, who apologized for Caroline's "dry humor" (a sense of humor means you know how to smile, not insult by the way), and was offered a free Quarter Chicken Dinner under my name and phone number which i can pick up through dine-in, takeout, or drivethrough. Sweet. I went through the drivethrough and was then told that I would have to come inside and speak with the manager so they could find the papers from the other day to prove I'm speaking the truth despite providing my name and number.
