It's very rare that a negative review is warranted for an establishment, in my opinion. But when my collective group of 6 people seemed to have the same shared sentiment of being rubbed the wrong way when leaving the restaurant, it's necessary to let others know.
When sat, I asked the server of the specials, as we saw posters coming in. She stated that the lunch special of a single pound for $12.99 was until 3pm and it was 2:56pm. There was also the daily special (a Sunday special for $14.99, so $2 more). There was also a drink deal for $4.99. I asked if I could do two single pounds which she said yes, and I asked which beers were on that deal and ordered. She said the lunch special was possibly no longer available, so I said there's a daily special and she nodded. My whole party assumed that deal was available. I didn't know the salad was also an extra charge of $2.50, but that one was my own oversight.
When the bill had come, she didn't hand our receipts and just typed the number on the machine. I looked at it and was perplexed as it was much more than the amount I had thought. I asked to see the bill and she had charged $7.99 for the beer, and $37 for an order of double wings, along with the charge for salad. She did this (not showing the bill) for everyone and we all had to ask individually to see what she had charged us. We asked what happened to the special, and she said it was only available in the evening (we looked at the poster after and it stated nothing of the sort). We all felt like we were being scammed of sorts.
It was not reassuring that she told us that she was the only one working the restaurant (she's serving us and making the wings too? Seems like it could be a health code violation of sorts) and would disappear for long stretches. We wanted our bill and everything, but we had to sit for about half an hour before she reappeared. Mind you the restaurant only had our table and one or two other patrons during the time. There were online orders for pick ups here and there, but if there was a kitchen staff it wouldn't seem like an issue at all.
The atmosphere is a typical sports bar. Can't complain too much other than TVs on one side were completely not working.
The food was very bland, almost flavourless. The fries didn't taste like anything, and the wings were cold. The gar par had a strange flavour to them. We weren't expecting anything amazing, it's a sports bar serving wings, but it was very underwhelming to say the least. My friends ordered the fountain drinks of Diet Coke, and she had come out with cans of Pepsi Zero. We're a tolerant group, so it was fine, but we had to clarify if there were refills or not, which she said there was so we were a bit hesitant but went with it anyway. Luckily no one was charged extra for the additional cans of drink refills ordered, but it wasn't reassuring to us as it seemed there was either a lack of communication or care on her end, or that she was stressed doing everything in the restaurant.
Overall we left with a bad impression and would not recommend this...

Read moreLet me tell you all about this one time a few homies and I went to this place for some food, beer and baseball. The owner was the waitress and the waitress was the cook! Yes...you read that correctly. When we entered, nobody greeted us. We found our own seats while some lady behind the bar chatted to the local drunks. She finally sauntered over (most likely due to our growling stomachs) and took our orders. The Blue Jays were losing in the playoffs. That didn't help... After waiting an eternity for our wings (my friend ordered his much earlier than we did and yet was the last to receive his food) I proceeded to place one carefully selected Wild Wings Taco Flavored dry rub chicken wing to my foreteeth. The sensation I felt on my tongue could only be described as "Santa's Refrigerator". THE WING WAS FROZEN!! We're talkin' Fresh-Out-Freezer cold. To prove this wasn't just my tongue evolving into a new organism, I passed the wing around the table to my compardres. They each confirmed the temperature was frigid. I gave a glance at the Owner/Waitress/Cook and told her to please bring me COOKED wings. She apologized and swiftly slipped to the back....she returned no more than 1 minute later with promises that the wings have been taken care of. Now, I'm no rocket scientist but I'm pretty sure you can't cook meat in less than 60 seconds. So I left an informative not saying "THIS FOOD SUX" and proceeded to leave the building. Maybe next time you think of checkin out Wild Wings up her, you'll remember this story...
