West Beach Bar & Grill — Restaurant in White Rock

this was one of the worst experiences i’ve had ever in my life at an establishment. if i could give 0 stars and just leave a review then i would. upon arrival i was not given a drink menu, or a food menu, i had to ask another table to see their drink menu. took us 25 minutes to even get our waitress’ attention to even order a drink. after we got our drinks i decided i wanted a food menu as well, which took another 25 minutes to get because i wasn’t able to borrow someone else’s menu this time. treatment like this is already enough for me to not leave a tip at the end of the night, but my partner was the one paying and i didn’t have much of a say. my partner also asked to split the bill up because someone else at our table had their drinks on our bill and the server told him she couldn’t??? at what restaurant are you not able to split a bill? my partner decided to tip only as much as he would have for his drink on his own despite the bad service and because it was new years. he paid and the server followed up with “wow all that and that’s the tip you give me?,” which is extremely rude and unprofessional. if you want to complain about a tip, go home and complain to your friends or family, you should never say anything to a customer especially when they still gave you a tip even though you gave very bad service. my partner said “oh sorry” and she responded with “yeah thanks, don’t come again.” seriously? and to top it off the other waitress who didn’t even serve us came up to us to say my partners tip was rude and that we should tip our servers. we did!! even though the service was bad! so disrespectful! this is a no go for me so i decided to say something at the end of our night. i said they need to learn how to treat customers and they argued with us. the woman who served us even put her hands on my partner!!!! she also had her partner there who was being rude to customers as well. even more unprofessionalism! you can really tell how miserable these women are with their lives. please avoid coming here. we came out tonight because my friends band was playing a show for new years and nearly every person in the bar had some complaint about the wait staff being rude. great start to...

Came here during summer and tried the FRENCH DIP, which is a staple sandwich and something I regularly order at restaurants. Unfortunately the French Dip from this restaurant was the worst one I had ever tried... I'd not come back after months to write a negative review otherwise... Very overpriced for the low quality that it is, I've had French dip sandwiches for the same price that had nice thick slices of sirloin steak cooked exactly to my preference so it was really disappointing paying that price for a very low quality item. The meat was in slices, looked like leather, and lower quality than deli meat. The Au Jus was disgusting, like it was heated in the microwave made from one of those ready made packets. In my opinion they should review their menu and remove items like the French Dip. I will gladly change my review to 5 stars if owner shows proof that the French Dip has been removed from the menu as I don't take pride in leaving negative reviews. Listening to customers and taking their criticism into consideration is good business practice and I'd happily change my review if proof is shown that this establishment can do so. Also restaurant is clearly understaffed, when I was there I watched the single waitress deal with a packed restaurant which causes poor customer service. She had not come to check up on us and we had to call her over anytime we needed assistance, not a big deal and didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth but the French dip sure did. My girlfriend and I ate here feb, 2017. The service was fast and friendly. We sat next to a rowdy table which couldn't stop swearing which made for a bad experience. They were clearly regulars at this bar as they knew everyone's name. They had complained to the server that they food they ordered smelled "old". The server replied "well it was pulled out of the freezer a few days ago so it should be fine". They ended up ordering something else from the menu and refused to eat what had been served to them. When we left one of the regulars apologized to us for being "too loud".

Once my girlfriend and I arrived home she began to feel sick and threw up all the food she ate. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very sick and threw up for over an hour. We both felt like we had food poisoning into the next day.

There is clearly some food safe issues in this establishment that need to be addressed.

I would highly recommend not eating here unless you only are looking to drink and be sourrounded by loud abnoxious regulars who don't care about how they conduct themselves.

All round a terrible experience and we will not ever be going back to the west...
