A&W Canada — Restaurant in Windsor

We stayed at the A&W in Windsor on the 12th August. I have never had such bad service. The crew appeared disorganized and haphazard. As always, we ordered a veggie burger wrapped in lettuce from A&W. I was absolutely shocked how this one was made. The patty was wrapped in just a single leaf of lettuce. I've never had anything like this. And at this totally overpriced price. If we hadn't been in a hurry and already back on the highway I would have come back in and complained and asked for my money back. It was an outrage to sell a burger like that. In all other branches I had received a burger neatly wrapped in lettuce. Something like that shouldn't happen. The people in the kitchen should know better. Very disappointing. We will definitely not go...

About once a month I enjoy a sausage & egg Mc*. However the last time I waited 20 minutes to enjoy my Mc*.

So this time I stepped out of my comfort zone and went A&W.

Boy, what a difference!! The muffin was so fresh, & just lightly (rightly??) toasted. The egg was taller/thicker & cooked to perfection (6.5 seconds past runny). But the sausage, oh, the sausage.... It was larger, juicier and way tastier than the opposition.

I had to go back for a second, just to make sure the first wasn't a fluke. (the sacrifices a food critic must endure!)

It was so superior I was in awe. I'm a convert.

It's a shame A&W stop serving them so early in the afternoon!!

As a frequent business traveller through this region, I stopped for supper at this location. It was a bad choice. Service was just ok, but when your restaurant has an open kitchen, visible to all guest, you may want to reconsider the health habits of some of your employees. The food however was even worse. Had a double Teen combo... burger was cold, fries were cold, onion rings were burnt and a soggy coating, and the apple pie..... looked burnt on one side......not sure how that happens on one side in a fryer. Disgusting meal, and I will definitely not be stopping back at this location. Thankfully, not all A&W locations are as unsatisfying as this...
