Gold House Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Windsor

Food is pretty good half of the time. The other half of the time, it's very bland. The biggest issue i have with them is the owner's lack of an ability to judge her weekend take-out traffic, despite being in business for several years. I'll be told 30 minutes or 6:00pm and the food is never ready on time. If it was 5 minutes off or even 10 minutes off, I'd be more understanding but its regularly 45 minutes to an hour off of the time she gives me. Im usually told to pay when I arrive and am left standing around the restaurant (during a pandemic, ill add) with no time frame given or the extra wait acknowledged. I'm not sure what the issue is but I'd highly recommend ordering from Baby Panda if you're looking for take out in the Windsor area. The dining experience, when you're able to sit and eat, is fine but I cannot stress it enough, if you're ordering on a Friday or Saturday night, add some extra time to whatever she says because she seems unable to...

We were in for an anniversary dinner. Everything pretty much tasted the same. My wife ordered a shrimp “dish” (there is no eat in menu, you just order off the flyer) and it was covered in cherry sauce.I don’t think it’s suppose to be covered in a dip. No music playing at all which was very odd….not a fan of listening to other people eat. Decor was stale and felt like an old church basement. Water was tap water I think. Had to ask for dinner plates instead of the tiny snack plates we were given. Meals were warm/cold when delivered and dishes were delivered one. At. A. Time……

I won’t go here again. At best, it tastes like 3 day old wet...

The food is good but the service is painful. We always order ahead and they tell us a time to come pick up. I don't think it's ever been ready on time and today was the breaking point for us. We ordered and they told us it would be 40 mins so I show up on time and wait another FIFTY minutes with a bunch of other people cramped together in the peak of cold and flu season. I dont mind if it takes a while but they have to start giving realistic time frames to pick up. We'll try another...
