Charley B's Classic Grill & Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Winkler

Arrived in Winkler and saw this cool burger joint right across from the hotel I was staying and thought I'd try out one of the local restaurants. I was amazed at their menu for a take out only joint, with so many choices to choose from. After I thought I had a decision made, I'd see something else that would catch my eye. Just makes me want to come back next time I'm in the area to make sure I try something new! I had the portabella burger and it was so good! Messy, but good. lol Saying that, make sure you grab lots of napkins when you leave. ;-) I had the onion rings which I really enjoyed. It was a good portion and they were small and easy to eat, which means they weren't hard and crispy. My only downfall was the drink size when I ordered the combo. I was not expecting a "child's size drink from McDonald's" when ordering this and wish they could have made it a medium at least for the price you are paying. Love that they support local businesses offering fresh food options including fresh burgers, homemade hard ice cream and gluten-free options. They welcome special orders for dietary restrictions to make it just the way a customer enjoys it. THE most delicious burgers!! The great white mushroom is an all-time fave with the famous bacon aioli. Delicious!!! I had an extended lunch today, so I ordered Charley B’s, yesterday already. She said 11:45 delivery shouldn’t be a problem at all. By 12:10pm I was calling them, asking what happened. They were clueless that I had an order in. My lunch break was over at 12:30, had to go back to work. Around 12:40 my food arrived. And all they did to compensate me was a $5.00 gift card?!?!? I threw it in the trash where it belonged, along with the service. Lack of communication strikes again. This has happened before. Yes, I did still take the food, yes I paid for it, yes I saved it for my dinner later on. Re-heated burger and onion rings, score!!! Not really.
