A Wonderful Buffet Experience!! 10/10 My mother and I made the trip from Morris to Winkler this afternoon and decided to stop in and try out the buffet at MeiMei. We were both so very happy that we did. We started eating around 5:15, Mom is 87 and gets hungry pretty early. I was starving (you might argue that if you saw me ha ha). Two years of cooking school and 40 years spent in 26 different kitchens = a few extra pounds. There were 10 or 12 hot dishes, all properly cooked and seasoned, kept hot in a properly regulated steam table. As good as it gets, as far as I’m concerned. The chicken balls were homemade and quite meaty. Everything else was very nice. The broccoli was just cooked enough so that my old teeth could chew it. The ginger beef was tender and crispy. Top-shelf, as good as any Chinese buffet I’ve had in years. A great job on every front. A very clean dining room with lots of artful pictures on the walls, very friendly staff, tasty, properly cooked hot food, five or six flavours of hard ice cream. Edit to respond: The noodles were simply not cooked, they were not crispy as you say and the sesame chicken was not sweet at all, it tasted like pure soya sauce.

Ordered pick up for New Year’s Eve and the noodles were still hard and not cooked, the “sesame chicken” was not sesame chicken, more drenched in soya sauce, and the fried rice tasted like straight soya sauce as well. Everything that didn’t taste like soya sauce was over cooked. We just moved from Winnipeg and were recommended by many to try this place. Very disappointing, I don’t recommend this place at all. Very reasonably priced and good portions as well. I ordered take out and my fault for not asking for a fork and knife, as I was taking it back to the hotel so my eggroll became my spoon. lol I liked the sweet and sour chicken and shrimp and the vegetables were fine but the rice was way too salty.
