This restaurant is fighting back the forces of inflation. It’s hard to find cheap eats around the city. Even at old venerable Chinese takeouts, dishes are climbing to just under $20 per plate. When I find cheap eats, I treasure them as I treasure the lunch buffet at Good Earth Restaurant. Foodies beware. The sweet and sour pork will be mealy; the wonton soup will be a salt bomb; the fried rice may be clumpy one batch or undercooked and hard the next. Any Chinese buffet with chicken balls on the menu is serving a specific clientele. And foodies are not it. I wouldn’t expect to see a Jason Statham movie to be wowed by the acting or the realism. With that being said, the food was plenty, the washroom was clean, the server was efficient in clearing the plates, and my water was kept full. I can’t ask for more for $14.99. I’ll definitely bring my dollars here. I didn’t see anyone mention this in the reviews but here are the 12 dishes: 1) Fried rice 2) Fried noodles 3) Chicken balls 4) Fried pork with onions and green peppers 5) Fried broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, celery 6) Beef and mushroom 7) Sweet and sour pork 8) Fried chicken 9) Shrimp ball with honey 10) Chicken with vegetables 11) Deep fried wontons with orange sauce 12) Wonton Soup Manage your expectations and you’ll walk out full and satisfied, wallet a little heavier than you would elsewhere.

It fills the stomach. That's about it. Nice that they have lots of veg. Meat options primarily chicken or pork. Minimal beef in the beef and mushrooms. They're there if you look. Price is acceptable. $14.95+tax. My stomach felt uneasy afterward and bloated. However, I didn't get sick. It is a buffet. Service is average. Cleanliness could be better. It's in an order building with dated decor. The place was quite busy for the lunch buffet. People are not coming for any of those things I mentioned. If you're looking for fine dining, look somewhere else. But if you're looking to get filled at this price and can put up with some things, then it's the place. I won't be coming often.

"Our workplace ordered lunch from Good Earth Restaurant, and unfortunately, all the food was soggy and tasteless. I would not recommend. They used vermicelli with curry powder for the noodles, which was unusual. The Kung Pao chicken was mostly celery, carrots, and broccoli; in one tray, we found only a few pieces of chicken, with the rest filled with celery. The mixed vegetables were extremely soggy and lacked flavor." "In the fried rice, there were lumps of white rice, as if it hadn’t been mixed properly, and it tasted overcooked." When I called, they said, 'This is how we make it.' There was none of the expected taste of a Chinese restaurant."

If I could give this location no star I would. Worst experience my husband and I have ever had. They persistently argued with us over the phone when my husband had called back as they made our order wrong but insisted that we were lying and carried on for a 15 minute phone call fighting with my husband. We decided we wanted a refund and they finally agreed. My husband confirmed that their driver (as we ordered delivery) would come back and give us our refund upon us returning the dish, which of course we were fine with. An hour goes by, still no one shows. My husband called back and asked how much longer it would be and the guy who answered argued with him that they never agreed to drive back and bring us our refund, that we MUST go to their restaurant and pick up the refund and return the food. After being called liars, argued with and now hungry from waiting on these people for 2 hours we were extremely frustrated. Eventually the driver showed up to issue the refund but had the nerve to tell my husband that “they no longer do business with us.”

It is the RESTAURANTS JOB to correct and excell with proper customer service. THEY made several mistakes and portrayed the worst service you can give in the restaurant industry and felt it was right to tell their CUSTOMERS they no longer do business with us all because they messed up our order, argued, called us liars and made us wait several hours.

Do not do business with this restaurant unless you want to be...

We have always ordered from good earth and really enjoyed it, but I had the worst experience around (but not on) mother's day! We ordered a large delivery order but had to call in to complain because the chicken was dried out, and worse the "beef" was inedible - chewy and gooey (really gross consistency and flavor was off) We were basically told we were mistaken/lying and everything was fine. It definately wasn't. We weren't offered a replacement on the "beef", never mind the order. We used to go there for lunch often, and also order a big order every couple weeks for get togethers. Bad food can unfortunately happen anywhere, regardless, (it happens - people are human) but businesses typically offer a replacement, discount, free meal or whatever for compensation. While the food was definately sub-par and and ended up in the garbage (my recently adopted stray cat wouldn't even eat it and he eats everything because he was starving before!) it was the response I got from Good Earth that is the reason I won't be back. I've probably spend an average of $300-$400+ monthly between corporate type lunches and takeout here but I'll find somewhere else from now on. Very disappointing as used to be my favorite go-to place for...
