I liked this place for karaoke but when I was last there I was publicly humiliated. First at the bar then at my table. I often but not always drink ice water when I go to any karaoke place, this place I have been going to for a year and this was the first issue I had but it was a big one. First of all I wasnāt going out that night because I couldnāt really afford to, but my roommate knowing I had a long and hard week ,surprised me by driving and dropping me off. The karaoke scene was fairly busy.I went to the bar and ordered an ice water. The waitress then stated to me that management has told her that I canāt always order just ice water. I was a little flabbergasted(there was a regular sitting to the right of me he looked a little shocked as well). I said I have purchased food, drinks and recently. (the last few times I was there I bought food and alcohol) I tried to shrug it off, She is just doing as she was asked. I purchased a shot and took my ice water over to a table with familiar faces. I messaged my roommate to get it off my chest and try to move on with my night. Maybe 30-60 minutes later Mario one of the owners approached me asking me who Nick was. I said my roommate why. He said that he had posted a review about me no longer being able to have only water for the night. (I never asked or knew he was going to do this) Mario persisted to try and justify himself, telling me itās not fair to the other patrons, nor his staff that I only ever drink water.(in this moment 2 of the people at my table left the awkward situation) Iām now defending myself over a review I didnāt ask for. I said I do buy food and alcohol, I have also rented pool tables . I have also brought my friends, who have purchased food and drinks while there. ( I am now noticing the table beside ours is looking and listening) he starts another rebuttal but I then just agreed that I would no longer come in if Iām not buying food or alcohol. He says I can buy a pop. I said I prefer to drink water when I sing pop is dehydrating. ( I honestly donāt know if he even heard me because he was talking over me) I then just persisted to state I will no longer come in if Iām not purchasing alcohol or food. Until he finally stopped and walked away. I was so embarrassed ,the people at the table beside were making questioning comments to each other and the other person at my table was clearly uncomfortable, I started crying so I went outside for some air. I stayed ,once I calmed down ,to sing my song . I then ran into a friend and stayed because he would give me a ride home so we could catch up. So thatās what happened. Yes I felt publicly humiliated, yes I was crying off and on, while I kept realizing that I just lost a place I enjoyed singing at. No I will not be returning. Staff greeted us took our QR codes and IDs, she was very friendly and made us feel at ease, showed us in and to a table. Suddenly a guy came to us, acting nonchalant and angry said that we were not welcome to stay. This was a big shock, my interpretation is that he was some kind of supervisor or might even the owner of the place. I asked him why we couldnāt stay, explaining all our vaccine cards are in order and all. He angrily pointed at my client saying my client is not welcome to this place. I asked him once again the reason why, he just impatiently asked us to leave immediately. My client has a registered condition and a file is being processed against this horrible place for discrimination in accordance to discriminating people with disabilities act.
My client was emotionally affected several days after this event.
Iām not happy and not a fan of this companyās policies. Not to recommend!!!!!!
