Licks Ice Cream Patio — Restaurant in Winnipeg

This is my favorite ice cream spot. It's so delicious and usually a great experience every time. However, today was not a great experience. I went in today around 4:45pm with my family and there was no other customers there besides one that came and went fairly quickly. The ones working today was a girl who appears to be Asian and another with long blonde hair. When I was ready to order, the Asian girl immediately seemed disinterested. I started the order by requesting 2 orders of single scoops of ice cream in a paper cup as the ice cream usually slides around and gets messy in the plastic dish for the kids. The first part of the order was handed in a plastic dish. I let her know that I requested a cup and both girls looked at me puzzled. The 2nd part of the order was another single scoop, different flavor. In the middle of getting my order, the girls seemed to be distracted by something outside and not very attentive. When I finally got the ice cream, it was a completely different flavor from what I asked for which was for my little girl. I don't expect to be treated like a queen or anything but I didn't even get an apology for the mix up. It was a very odd experience and the girls still seemed to be distracted and whispering amongst themselves. In the end, we got the ice cream that we asked for and it was great. I went on September 28,2028. I first ordered a smoothie which was made with apple instead of milk or yogurt. It was awful tasted so bitter that I couldn't drink it. I got refund for it. Then I ordered licorice small ice cream which was the size of a child size ice cream. Had no flavour and tasted awful. Next day went number two all that coloring that was used to make ice cream came out as a bright green color. Beware they use artificial flavors and colors. It was very mentally disturbing. It scared me so I goggled and learnt they use several different food coloring to make licorice ice cream. Why use food coloring which are very toxic especially to little children. Probably the best all around ice cream place in the city. The girls who work here are incredibly sweet and attentive. The options are great! We have family members who love hard ice cream and those who love soft serve, so this place fits the tee for us! We absolutely love the parfaits (best in the city) and they have ice cream for your dog—literally serve every family member!!! They have excellent Covid policies in place and have a great outdoor setup for the long queue lines with social distancing! Please note that the patio is closed for dining (which is very responsible of them) and you will want to have cash or debit to pay. They have a frequent purchaser program as well (stamp card).
