Miriwa Restaurant — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I usually don't post reviews, but this was just such a crazy and frustrating experience that I wanted to share.

I ordered at 4:00pm and was told it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait. After an hour and a half (at 5:30pm) I called and was told the driver was on their way with our food.

30 minutes later at 6:00pm (2 hrs after ordering), still no food. I called back and they said the driver was still on their way, but "there was lots traffic". I live very close by, so it's maybe a 5-10 minute drive, but I figured they might have multiple drop offs to do so it's taking a while.

Then, about 5 minutes later (after waiting over 2 hours already) I get a call telling me they are really busy and haven't made our food and it will be another hour, and they asked "do I want food still or not?". I explained that we have already been waiting over 2 hrs with our family, including 2 young children who are very hungry, and this was completely unacceptable. He said "so you don't want the food" and hung up on me.

We called back and after getting passed from one person to another, getting the run around, and being told again that our food was "on it's way" the guy we were talking to told us they will give us 30% off and we can come pick up in 30 minutes, then suddenly hung up on me again. When we called back we got a woman who said the guy accidentally hung up and that he shouldn't have said 30% and that they can actually only do 15% discount and wed have to pick up. Really?!? Other than offering the 15% off, they didn't say anything along the lines of an apology. They actually seemed annoyed that I was questioning where our food was. By this point it was almost 3 hour later and we just gave up on getting any food for our family Boxing Day dinner.

I understand that Boxing Day is busy for them, but if they would have told us a realistic wait time when I called in the beginning, then we could have planned accordingly.

We have been loyal customers for 20+ years, but after this experience we are never going back there, and are encouraging others to avoid ordering from them as well. They clearly don't care about...

Giving a 1 star because I wanted to leave a review otherwise ZERO rating. Ordered supper the food was lukewarm, Cantonese chow mein was bland 1 piece of cauliflower, 4 small broccoli pieces, 3 carrots, 4 pieces celery, 4 shrimp.no mushrooms or peppers, noodles were soggy bland, very little sauce. Fried rice had absolutely nothing but 1 sliver of chicken, no vegetables, just soya sauce ,rice was bland and lukewarm and sticky. Veal was soggy with a lot of grease, ginger beef was dried out, overdone and tasteless. The other dishes were the same, overdone, tasteless and lukewarm. You could tell the food was previously prepared and just on warming trays. None of us liked the food. When we went to pay the bill and was $15 more than my bill because they added a tip onto debit machine without my knowledge. (Sleazy) until I checked the machine, before I used my card to pay. The senior oriental women was rude, loud and totally unprofessional, very ignorant to customers coming in and going. She’s an absolute lunatic. And I’m being generous about her attitude. Patronage is sure not appreciated in this restaurant. We will not be returning here. Overpriced, dishonest, disgusting food & staff. Also msg is used here and...

I ordered a combo plate that included dry breaded veal (dine in). As I started eating I quickly realized the 'veal' was actually pork. When I talked to the owner she confirmed yes it was in fact pork (I was really hoping it was just a kitchen error) and then proceeded to tell me customers prefer the pork over the veal and that people prefer the old owners recipe (she's been the owner for 20 years). So I was extremely disappointed as I believe they are trying to cut costs and this is certainly not the way to do it. Knowingly serving an item that is different from the stated menu and completely different proteins has huge implications. Allergies, religious beliefs, etc. I won't ever go back which is unfortunate because it's the closest Chinese restaurant to me. She did give me half off to make up for it but unfortunately...
