Mar's Sisig Jefferson — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Food here are not too bad if you want something quick to eat. Location is convenient since it’s closeby. Had their tocilog before and the Tocino was very sweet I didn’t like it. It’s way sweeter than usual Tocino.

Also had their Turon (Banana Spring Roll) before and I find it too sweet and barely a banana inside, you can taste more of the wrapper than the banana. I haven’t seen a Turon this thin, it’s like a flat Turon.

Got Menudo almost three weeks ago and it tasted good. Then I bought Menudo again two days ago and when I got home, it tasted different than the one I had before. This time, Menudo tasted SOUR like you can taste some calamansi/kumquat on the sauce. I also noticed the cut of the pork is way bigger and longer than the usual small, cube cuts in their menudo before. The one I got also was missing some sausages which the previous one had. I thought maybe this is a different dish so I called Mar’s Sisig and I explained. The staff said the one they served me was probably a different dish which is called “IGADO”, which is why it tasted sour. I never had a sour Menudo before so this was really different. I got a Small and Medium and I felt like I should’ve gotten a real Menudo, not Igado.

Staff should double check which food they’re serving customers and also check the signs of their food display make sure it matches the actual food.

This was by far the worst customer service experience in my life. I strongly do not recommend ever going to this restaurant. I ordered via skip the dishes and had next to no meat. I called the restaurant and had to repeat myself numerous times. Only for them to not even apologize for the lack of meat in my meal. I offered to get someone else to pick up more meat at the restaurant. My father shows up and all of the workers had no idea what was going on. That shows LACK of communication between colleagues. At this point, i called them yet again. The male worker wanted proof by me sending the food back. Keep in mind, i ordered via skip. Why would i, as the customer... need to make my way to the restaurant via bus, bike, cab, uber etc? My father waited there for over 30 minutes while i was on the phone with the male worker over MORE MEAT. How outrageous is that? I then told them that i will just return everything and get my money back because at this point, i was so done with the back and forth. Putting on hold for so long. Hey travellers, We are a family that is coming from Vancouver bc. If you want your food hot to dine in make it clear to them because they will expect your taking it home just reheat it yourself. This was my first time coming here and my wife complained because our food was cold and we are serving this to our kids for lunch. It appears that the food warmers are not functioning and they fail to keep the heated food warm ie the bbq skewers and crispy food. The items were served lukewarm/ cold. The sisig came out cold and when you touch the centre it was fridge temp which doesn’t seem like it meets food safety and health standards. When we asked the staff to reheat the food they seemed offended and spoke in Tagalog and gave dirty looks to my wife. Customer service is poor and food quality is under par.
