Utage Maple Sushi — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Ordered here through UberEats with my mother on a busy March 4th Friday evening and everything tasted delightful!

We got the California roll (mayo, fish eggs, crab meat, avocado), the mango roll (cucumber, mayo, avocado, tempura bits topped with fresh mango, my personal favourite as I love mangoes), the take sensei roll (tempura shrimp, mayo, cucumber, mango and fish eggs) and the tempura yam roll (our vegetarian option). Each of these rolls had 6 pieces each.

Everything was nicely packaged, nothing spilled (in terms of the sauce). The sauce for the yam tempura roll was nice and sweet.

Everything was eaten and no leftovers!

The price was $42.39 as it was delivered by UberEats and there was a taxes included of course, delivery fee, service fee and I also included a tip for the courier. This was our first time ordering from Utage Maple Sushi and it was great!

A little bit on the pricier side, but I am wondering if there’s an option to make a “take-out” call for pick up instead of having to use other delivery courier services. I was unable to find a “pick up” option on the UberEats app itself.

I ordered $100 worth of food and only ate the edmame beans. I had a piece of what I belive was supposed to be a *deepfried 76. California Roll and I spit it out it was descusting. the tempura batter they use is un-edible im not sure how you can mess up batter that much. Anything deepfried after that i didnt even touch. The sushi rolls tasted bad and were cut to different thicknesses and slanted some too big to eat, the avacodo on top of the roll was so thick, it made me confused. Is this there first time making sushi? I ordered a 81. Teriyaki Chicken Roll it was a piece of old chicken in rice that's it. I definitely cannot recommend this place to ANYONE other than my arch nemesis. My garbage was so full after this I was forced to...

Do not order from here. Sushi was terrible. The rice was mushy and had no flavour. I believe it was regular rice and not sushi rice because majority of the rolls I ordered, the rolls/rice was soo packed together so it’ll hold like real sushi rice. The color was off on the salmon and smelled “fishy”. Ok, I saved the best part for last….take a look at my photo. There was bones in my Atlantic rolls! It punctured inside of my mouth. Horrible and unacceptable for a sushi place. If anyone reads this, order at your own risk. I’m hoping they improve But I don’t think so.
