Obsidian Ultra Lounge — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I like this “ultra lounge”, I think it’s a decent environment and they usually play great music. The bar can be a little meh sometimes because the bartenders don’t always know what they’re doing and there really aren’t enough of them to deal with the demand. The biggest issue I’ve had is how the security treats people. The security does appear to be a separate hired company, however, I witnessed them throwing out very intoxicated people into -30 weather without asking them if they had coats or someone there with them. These were not people causing fights or were a danger to themselves or others. I really hope the managers of the establishment consider this and can find ways to treat their patrons in a much safer manner, especially since for really drunk people, being thrown out all alone can be life...

I was meeting up with a friend and decided to check this place out. I arrived first and decided to reserve a table. It wasn't busy, somewhere in between 6 and 10 people in the building.

After 4 minutes I simply left after not being so much as acknowledged by the staff, despite making eye contact with the bartender immediately upon entering.

You expect customers? Provide service! I won't be back.

For clarification's sake, I have worked in the hospitality industry and work in retail currently. I understand that sometimes it can be more busy than it appears. That is NO excuse here. Bartenders do a good job but the hostesses or whoever takes food orders does horrible. On multiple occasions i have ordered, paid, and waited nearly an hour for Not What I ordered. They have no communication with the kitchen , tell you 10 minutes then you wait at your table for an hour. Most of the menu items are OUT OF STOCK and seem to NEVER, be in stock. Good cheap drinks, fast service from bartenders. Tip well. Bad dj's. We'll hear ad's on their spotify or full bad empty silences.
