Really disappointing night at Olive Garden tonight, the restaurant was extremely busy which is entirely understandable after waiting around 20 minutes we were seated in the bar area instead of the actual restaurant 5 of us at a 4 person table. It was very loud the majority of our stay due to staff constantly walking through and also other guests waiting to be seated, picking up orders etc. 3 of us ordered the Never ending pasta 2 ordered off the menu, we had to chase down the server multiple times for basic service like drink refills and breadsticks (didn’t get our drinks or breadsticks for 20 minutes after we were seated). We were halfway through eating our appetizers and mains when we were offered cheese both times. We were never offered refills on our soup or salad and as mentioned we literally had to chase down the server for breadsticks. The servers shift ended right after we were served our mains and she asked us to pay so she could go. We had asked about a takeaway pasta for the never ending pasta which we have NEVER had an issue with before originally we were told it was fine. However after we all ordered our second bowl I had realized I was full and asked for mine to go which was already ordered and again we had asked about the take out pastas and were told we could she would just have to punch it in. The 2 that ate their second bowl asked for a take away one after their second bowl and even though we were told yes earlier in the meal we were then told no which was rather upsetting. Server made us pay so she could leave, she never even brought us the complimentary chocolates I had to ask the hostess if we could have some. Our bill was $250 after tip and yes even with the incredibly bad service we still tipped because it’s the right thing to do. We were left incredibly disappointed, we couldn’t decide if we just weren’t worth serving maybe because of how we looked? We have been to Olive Garden many times over the years and have never ever been treated like this, honestly it was just a heartbreaking experience overall. I’m not meaning to leave a long or nasty review I’m honestly just hopeful maybe management might look over our stay to see that we were mistreated during our...
Read moreOlive Garden is my kids' absolute favorite and we have always enjoyed it there until today. Everything was out of character, we got seated and took a bit to get a server. She got the order for our drinks and a while after she came to take orders, she was about to leave and the kids asked "Can we please have some breadsticks" She said sure, took a long time, and the kids asked about 3 times until there was any brought up to the table (and they didn't ask over and over took well over 15 minutes) 5 breadsticks gone in a few minutes, and again they had to ask for breadsticks not like usually as they get refilled as soon as they notice they are gone. We got our soups and that was really good, also got the drinks (pop) we also had to ask for drinks refills, glasses were sitting empty on the table, and seemed like nobody cared about looking after us properly. Then the main dishes came, Neverending pasta, which ended up being a big joke because the pasta we were served was atrocious, we got pasta with garlic and herbs and chicken, not the first time I have had this, and was good before, this time, absolutely impossible to eat, there was so much salt that tasted disgusting, I tried to mix them up (also my mom who ordered the same) and see if we could just go with it and eat it, nope, impossible, also my daughter's pasta with just plain sauce was spicy she couldn't eat it. I called our served and I gently told her the issues with our food, she was nervous and I told her to not worry because it wasn't her fault, a manager came in a few minutes, didn't handle the situation properly, even when we told him about the spicy sauce on my older kid's plate he said "I'll taste it myself" like seriously... she ordered what she always orders and her favorite food from there. They offered to redo the order we asked for different sauces, took a while to get it, so we ate a but and just took it home, we had somewhere to be at a certain time and we ended up being almost an hour later because of all these issues after almost $110 later we never saw the manager again and we didn't even get a "sorry the food wasn't good or sorry for the inconvenience" really awful experience today. The server though was...
Read moreWe tried to make a reservation a week in advance for my mom's 70th birthday. We were told we could only make a reservation the day of. We called and asked if it could be done. We were a group of 27. We were told yes and that the manager would be informed. Reservation was for 5pm. I was the first to arrive and they could not find our reservation. We were not in their system. The reservation was finally located written on paper tucked away in the desk. We were informed that they would work on getting us in but we would have to wait for people to leave. It was about 20 minutes before the manager came to the front. We told the manager that we had tried to book a week in advance and were told, sorry, we had to phone the day of. We phoned the day of were told that it's ok and the manager would be informed. The manager then informed us that sorry we have been booked full for a few weeks. (Website says they don't take reservations?) He then proceeded to tell us it would be a 45 minute wait. Now our mom is upset, first, they lost our reservation, second, manager says it will be 45 minutes more before we could be seated, third, the manager, from our point of view, was making it out to be our fault they lost our reservation. We proceeded to phone alternate restaurants in the area hoping to find space where we could get in right away. Everyone with children know that when they are hungry, they need to eat.
We called Famous Dave's. Initially, they said no after double checking there reservations. However, not even 5 minutes later, they called and said they could do it! This was all before they even knew our situation!
Shout out to Famous Dave's being able to accommodate our group immediately even before they found out our situation at the Olive Garden.
We immediately left Olive Garden and went across the street to Famous Dave's.
As a manager of a restaurant myself, at a resort, I am very disappointed with the customer service provided by the manager. The hostesses were awesome, my disappointment is with the manager.
We will not be going to any Olive Garden restaurant now or...
