Came here with a friend. Saw almost five star review and decided to check it out. She had been before and loved it so that was a good sign. We arrived at four and were served from the lunch menu. This place is all you can eat. The order menu itself is an erasable board where you write how much you want of each. The server explained everything very well so there were no surprises. On this menu however there are items with number beside them which indicates an extra cost to order. Stuff like nigiri, sushi and tempura. The sushi itself was delicious. Good ratio of inside items to rice and seaweed. Very flavourful. We also ordered wonton soup (best I’ve ever had) sushi pizza (also good- very crusty and not soggy. Great texture). The edamame was also good- I recommend the butter and salt one. The only downside is they charge 1$ for every roll that has pieces left. To try to discourage waste. And I get it- however we had eight pieces left. One from each roll we ordered- and they charged us one dollar PER ROLL instead of just saying ah this is technically one roll. So we got charged six bucks for one piece from each of the six rolls we got 👎🏼. Even with this though, it was still cheaper than ordering per piece at non AYCE restaurants Otherwise service was friendly and efficient. The parking lot and establishment is kinda small so when it’s busy there are waits. Best to go early or get a reservation. We checked google times and thankfully got in right away as it wasn’t busy. We didn’t try their bubble tea but they have an array of seasonal special bubble teas that looked phenomenal.

$20ish all you can eat dinner with decent quality rolls and options for the cost. Good value for cost, mostly. Careful with sushi pizza: it can be overly fried and comes with more rice than you might expect (fills that precious stomach space). Their sunomono salad is different than most, but really good if you like spicy mayo. They use fake crab rather than shrimp like most places. Good mix of textures in the salad with the noodles, sauce, tempura crumbs, cucumber and krab. Miso is a bit too salty. Not a fan of the spicy wonton soup. The rolls could have done with more sauce, but I'm a sauce person. Bakudan not as good as say Sushi Yas - magic doesnt use as much tempura with theirs and doesn't coat the bakudan as generously. Quality of the meat is what you'd expect for $20ish dollars. Again, decent value for the price, especially if you're a big eater and can have your fair share of rolls. They renovated and the tables/atmosphere feels cleaner and more modern. The bubble tea slushies are pretty good for a sushi place, but obviously not better than a dedicated bubble tea place. They seem to use powders for most of theirs so taro is a safe option. Service is usually pretty good. This is my go to cheap ayce sushi spot for lower priced meal. For more options and slightly higher quality you can pay $30 going to Mooshiro. For delicious quality and great value do Blufishes bento lunch boxes.

Very disappointed. I have been ordering the spicy miso soup for a while now with my rolls and I always get regular soup. I didn’t complain until it kept on happening over and over. When I would ask for spicy, they say they would relay the message to the chef. But it tastes like regular miso soup. Frustrating because we are paying extra for spicy. The last time it happened they offered me a credit for the soup. I called in today to get it, and the person on the phone said to come pick up in 10 mins. “Please don’t come more than 15 minutes as I don’t want it to cool down” I get to magic for 10 mins, and I wait a while to acknowledged. Once I was acknowledged, the soup is “being finished off.” I waited over 20 mins for two small bowls of soup. I bring it home and the soup again, is not spicy. However this time it’s very greasy. Oil is just floating to the top and when I tasted it, I had greasy film sitting in my mouth. Very disappointing, don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

UPDATED REVIEW

1 STAR IN 2024 FROM 4 STARS 4 YEARS AGO

came down today at 2:55pm for the AYCE (all you can eat) Tuesday special, I arrived first & I know the Tuesday special is first come first serve, got asked to sit down and wait til 3pm from a tall man at the counter

3PM came & another customer walked in for the exact same special, he got asked to sit down and wait - he sat beside me then a minute later he got asked to sit down and eat before me, I waited for my turn next but then a family of 5 walked in at 3:05PM also for AYCE & were seated yet again ahead of me

I stood up wanting to talk to the lady at the counter, but all she told me was to "sit down & please wait" knowing I was there at 2:55PM

I stared out the window & decided that I would not tolerate this type of disrespectful service, it wasn't worth my time or pressence to want to even eat here anymore

So I left & I decided not to personally come back ever.

All my friends are foodies, I already told them of my experience to proceed with caution.

  • DECENT RECOMMENDATION * 2020 REVIEW

For an all you can eat buffet it is definitely worth it, best bang for your buck for decent sushi for it's area.

PROS • newly renovated, clean • servers are active and accommodating. • mindful of serving sizes per roll

CONS • no alcoholic beverages • limited space for seating • bad parking

Overall, would...
