I had high expectations after reading reviews. However, I was disappointed! The food was flavourful but they cheeped out on the ingredients. We ordered battered fried calamari. Which was mixed with batted fried onions. The lemon grass chicken had loads of mushroom to substitute for chicken. The Thai green Curry chicken had loads of cucumber and it was so runny not thick like the traditional curry. My husband told my home made Thai green curry is much better. The soft shell crab was very flavorful and was the favorite among the adults. We were told it will be only 2 crabs but with ster fried veggies it was a reasonable potion. The prices were reasonable. We expected the owner not to substitute dishes with vegetables cos it made us not have a great experience. My 11 year old made a good comment, he said if a person is allergic to a certain food like mushrooms and ordering a chicken dish and getting mushrooms will be a serious problem. After 6pm street...
Read moreDrove all the way from north to st vital to check out this place, since I saw it on instagram that’s it’s “authenticated by the Thai government” as official restaurant. I asked if they have pad krapow, cause i always order it when I go Thailand numerous times and when I also go other thai food restaurants in the city which they offer, and this place don’t offer it in the menu? Okay! weird since its official national dish of Thailand and they don’t offer? Kinda disappointed there. I asked for chilli oil, they don’t even offer it also, and as for spicy level of the dishes which they offer to all Thai restaurants, this place didn’t even ask what level spicy I wanted, which I got it all bland and plain. Presentation is meh, and I asked for water to drink a lot of times and the waitress kinda ignored me since she looks like she’s busy but there’s only 4 tables only being served. It’s good the food but not as being “authentic” as they say on instagram food...
Read moreKeep in mind I am not a Thai food expert, as I havent eaten too much of it, so this is coming from an amateur viewpoint. This place was recommended, so let's give it a try were my thoughts. The inside of the restaurant certainly has a lot more appeal than the outside. In fact, very nice inside, a warm homey feeling. I ordered the Beef Stir-fried in Homemade Curry Paste. I didn't know quite what to expect, as curry in my mind is East Indian, so was expecting something leaning towards that flavour, and looking forward to a new taste never experienced before. There was no curry flavour whatsoever, at least not the kind I am used to. The dish had only one flavour....very very spicy hot, like a level 6-7. It was far too spicy hot for me. The beef was not nearly as flavourful and tender as I have experienced in other Asian restaurants. Service was ho-hum, take my money and see you later type of thing. Will need to try something...
