Okay, so on Tuesday August 17th, 2021 my wife and I had dinner at Joe's Food Emporium. I ordered a hamburger and fries and my wife had a hot turkey sandwich.

Her sandwich was truly awesome. I think they must have stuffed at least three full-grown turkeys in between those two slabs of bread and the gravy was homemade and so good. I wish I'd ordered what she ordered.

My burger was a little tame, kind of a deep-fried hockey puck between a bun. My worst complaint was the battered fries which are REALLY a poor substitute for actual fries. In fact, if I could give Joe's one bit of useful advice, it would be to get rid of those discount battered fries and start making their own fries. Get some local potatoes and a handy-dandy industrial strength french fry cutter and go to town on making some of the good stuff.

I had a chocolate milkshake which was pretty darned good as well.

Still, I'm giving this five stars because of the service. Our waitress, a young girl with intricate braids was insanely busy and yet still managed to be cheerful and friendly and provide us with the best service possible. I can't remember her name (shoot, most days I can't even remember my own name) but if the management reads this you REALLY ought to give that lady a raise.

And get rid of the battered fries. They kind of taste like deep-fried...

Glad I ordered from here! In town for a night, on the road all day.

I love donairs and attempt to try out what towns have to offer when I visit. Between the choices in Wolfville, visually and with Google ratings, ordering here was with confidence and their follow-through didn't miss a beat.

Absolutely great take on a Halifax delicacy - solidly meaty with a welcome and different spice than what you typically get in the city. The donair sauce is original and homemade - no risk getting anything bought at the grocery store! The pita is soft, chewy and with the perfect amount of grease. Onions seemed sauteed, which is new and I enjoyed.

I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza for the kids - they loved it and so did I. Basket of fries with the spice they use on their Scot Skins; spice wasn't my absolute favourite but if you do this and get a cup of donair sauce for dipping, you'll never look back. Great combo.

Happy to pay the $5 delivery as I was a bit out of the main area of Wolfville (Evangeline Hotel) and this being a small town with less competition, higher expenses, it only makes sense to pass the costs on directly to specific customers rather than raise prices across the menu. Delivery was quick. Dude...

My daughter and I went there for lunch around 1 PM Saturday, June 27th and the service was terrible. We waited by a sign that said "wait to be seated" for 5 minutes or more without anyone acknowledging we were there, finally another customer told us just to find our own table because that's what they had to do too. After sitting for close to 20 minutes, maybe more, I got up and asked for menus because after someone came and got our drink order they completely forgot about us. When we finally got to order, our food took forever to arrive, it was almost an hour from the time we walked in until food was actually on our table and they weren't that busy inside. There is one server (a young lady) who has the worst attitude I've ever seen when it comes to dealing with customers, she's snappy and rude and it's with all customers and I don't understand how she keeps her job there. The food was good but I'll never wait that long again to be served. We also could hear 2 employees complaining the whole time we were there about how they had to continue to sanitize menus and how they hated being the ones to...

Where to even start 🤔 Well for one, best potato skins I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite had me “OMG’ing”. I feel like I’ve never actually had potato skins before because these were amazing. Also I got the main course I had ordered (hot turkey sandwich) and figured no way could it be as good as the potato skins. It was also amazing. So so good. The portions are also really big. I’m pretty sure I had more than half to take home. The waitress was checking on us frequently and was incredibly nice. And it’s such a cute little spot. But in all honesty their food there makes me never want to eat anywhere else ever again, because it will only disappoint in comparison. One of the best restaurants and one of the best meals I’ve had in a very very long time. Also forgot to mention their menu is huge. 4 pages front and back, so so many options. Can not wait till I can go back.

Come for the Service, Stay for the Scotchos! Joe’s Food Emporium really impressed me. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming, and our server was incredibly attentive and genuinely kind—one of those people who makes you feel right at home without even trying. But let me be real: the reason you have to come here is for the SCOTCHOS. I don’t even think words can do them justice. They’re flavorful, hearty, and exactly the kind of dish that makes you want to come back again (and again). It’s one of those “where have you been all my life” food moments. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t skip Joe’s. Come hungry, get the Scotchos, and thank me later.

I googled their menu before the time and saw a bunch of vegetarian/vegan options, especially on their Lebanese menu etc. When we got there this menu wasn’t available since they said they were just too busy. This was really disappointing since now there wasn’t much for me to choose from. If I’d known the menu was going to be so limited I would have gone elsewhere. The service was pretty good though and the waitress really worked with me on finding something I want to eat. The rice and lentils make a great side!
