The Anvil Beverage Room — Restaurant in Wolfville

Tonight I went to the Anvil with friends I was visiting from Acadia. I am from Newfoundland and going to school at UPEI, therefore I have never been to the Anvil before, but was excited to go. When I got there I found out that my one piece of ID was not proficient to allow me entrance. That was acceptable, since it is the same circumstances in Halifax, I just did not expect it in a small town since neither Charlottetown nor my hometown of Corner Brook do double ID. So I called my grandparents in Kentville to bring my wallet so that I could get in. The bouncer told me I could not wait at the door, I would have to wait by myself around the corner. So I went to wait for them in Tim Hortons. After waiting for a twenty minutes for confirmation of my identity, I returned to the line up. The bouncer looked at three of my IDs, then asked if I was having a good night. He was the same bouncer who told me to wait around the corner, so he was aware that I wasn't having a very good night. I shrugged my shoulders and said "meh", cause honestly my night was not going so great; I had just spent twenty minutes waiting alone for my IDs. He then told me to go home because he didn't like my attitude. I would have understood being turned away had I been drunk, but I was sober tonight. I felt like he had no intention of letting me in the bar in the first place since he came straight up to me despite there being other people in front of me in line. I felt targeted and...

I wish I could give negative stars to the anvil. I have been going to this bar as an Acadia student and almost every time I have gone, it has been a horrible experience for me and my peers. The bouncers and “security” are rude and disrespectful. They find any kind of way to ruin your night and cover is far too much for a bar where the floors are always sticky, waiting in line for 30+ minutes just to get in and not be able to move, disgusting bathrooms that are never cleaned, and over priced watered down drinks. If there was another bar in wolfville I’m confident that most students would go there but because the vil is the only one, that’s where students go. I would recommend not going if you want to enjoy your night. The staff here also are known to take people’s IDs so beware even though it may be YOUR ID they will still try and take it and do who knows what with it. Went to your guys's show tonight and we took a gay guy with us and he was very respectful but your guyses keep saying that he wasn't respectful not sure what you guys classify as being respectful but when you're sitting in a chair you're dancing in your chair you can't touch anybody you don't say nothing to nobody you're disrespecting people I don't agree with that I pay money to come see a show and take a gay person with me shouldn't be disrespected because he's gay for one two you might want to have a good reason to say that people disrespect you cuz he was not being disrespectful at all very disappointed very upset with paying that kind of money for tickets and leave the show before it's done because you have been told you've been...
